After the swashbuckling anchorman’s hilarious interview with Jon Stewart on last night’s Daily Show, Mandi and I have decided we are now FANS of Brian Williams.
Awww. They totally love each other. Everyone is in love!

My sister and I watched the interview last night and just cracked up the whole time. Brian Williams is officially awesome.
Oh man, last night was amazing. Every interview Jon has Brian on the show it’s great. It’s worth looking up all his appearances on TDS. I’d love to see a half-hour between these two, it would be THAT funny and THAT smart.
Guys, you are wayyy late to the Brian Williams loving party. I loved him back when he did the news for the Today Show. He was funny then and has been consistently funny on every talk show he’s ever been on for years.
Whether in person or simply in Head form, Brian Williams is my favorite Daily Show guest. I watched their latest exchange twice today at lunch… it’s refreshing to see a serious journalist like Brian Williams let down his hair.
You know when I fell in love with him? When he hosted SNL and totally killed. My favorite was the talk show sketch where he played a fireman with the greatest New Yawk accent ever.
I’ve been a Brian Williams fan ever since I caught him on The Late Show once and was introduced to his sense of humor. When I was a kid, I used to think that news anchors were the most serious, even crabby, people ever. Brian Williams could host a talk show himself and be more entertaining than any of his guests.
That’s right, he was funny on SNL! To be clear, Mandi and I have both enjoyed him on various late shows, but this clip happened to nudge our casual fandom into the magical realm of 100% Pure Love.
Did anyone catch the 30 Rock episode where Kenneth had to clean Brian’s office? While he didn’t appear on camera, (bad) stuff was written on his walls about Katie. Alec Baldwin’s character finds a sock with rice in it. Brian Williams is obviously a good sport.
Brian Williams was the speaker at my college graduation this past spring. It was pretty great
And I agree that your B-Dubs love is way over due.
I’m crashing the party. I can’t STAND Brian Williams. He stole Brokaw’s job, he thinks he’s so funny (which really makes him appear smug and not funny) and he really wants to be a stand-up comedian or a DJ. Go do that and let someone professional host the nightly news. Yeah, I’m a Williams hater! And what!?

sorry, I got so mad I posted twice!
I’ve been a fan of Brian Williams ever since I heard him on Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me on NPR. I’m a nerd.
I thought the same thing as I watched TDS last night! I started enjoy Brian Williams during his appearances on MSNBC’s Olympic Update shows. He was consistently funny and relevant(-ish) there. I even looked for a Facebook fan page today (I’m not sure the FB was working, though. I’ll have to try again later.) due to my new-found love.
I am so happy to see this post. I was thinking the same thing last night as I was watching TDS. He killed it and I kept thinking why don’t see more of B around the way.
Brian Williams did not steal Brokaw’s job. Brokaw ,quite voluntarily ,vacated the nighly news job in order to do some other things. His books on the Greatest Generation and the 60’s,Boom,are spectacular.
Brian Williams earned his position as next in line…and he certainly is one funny fellow.
I religiously watch NBC Nightly News because I love Brian Williams. When the news isn’t so serious, he cracks a joke on there as well. And he’s hilarious on talk shows and SNL. I’m definitely a Brian Williams fan.
meg, I LOVE Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me, and I have a soft spot in my heart for the celebrities that appear on it. I too felt the love for Brian Williams starting with his SNL appearance.
I adore Brian Williams. He’s smart and he’s a NASCAR fan. Proof the two aren’t mutally exclusive.
Adding on to my previous post, man, why isn’t their whole exchange online somewhere? It’s obvious they edited that piece for time constraints. And the SNL gig was brilliant as well.
I saw him speak a few years back at a journalism conference with Walter Cronkite (before taking over full time, I think) and the man knows the importance of his job. But give him props for knowing that sometimes, the news can be funny.
i love brian williams
Agree, agree. Love Brian on SNL, love Brian on any late night show, respect Brian as an anchor and what he brings to the public discourse, always look forward to him on TDS.
If TDS ever released a “best of” like SNL, I would totally buy “Brian Williams”!
From the times I’ve seen BWill on Conan I always thought he was charming and had great youth appeal. Unfortunately, no youths I know watch the nightly news – we read the news on the web.
