Yes, PopWatcher Leo once mentioned a Center Stage 2 in the comments section of a post, but I thought he/she was kidding!
Yesterday, my friend Eva (who not only saw Center Stage with me in theaters but also danced her way to the ladies’ room afterward) forwarded me this link to the New York Post’s GenPop blog. According to it, Center Stage: Turn it Up — love — will debut on Oxygen in November, before hitting DVD in January. Reportedly, Peter Gallagher (pictured, as Jonathan) returns long enough to enroll a self-taught prodigy in the American Ballet Academy, then give her the boot. Luckily, the young woman meets an ex-hockey player/ABA classmate — love — who gets her a job at a New York City club. GenPop predicts "an amazing dance-off to end all cinematic dance-offs." But how do they top the motorcycle’s entrance? (Love. Watch it after the jump!)
P.S. Like GenPop, I also have a thing for Gallagher. Ten years ago, I had a phone interview scheduled with him to chat about his TV movie Brave New World. He called me a day early because he was sitting in his car, waiting to pick his son up from hockey practice, and had time to kill. (Love!)

i am so excited about this, it’s not even funny. i’m annoyed i hadn’t heard about this either! i haven’t been so excited about a movie sequel since bring it on again. or bring it on: all or nothing. or bring it on: in it to win it.
SO EXCITED…of course, I’m a sucker for any and all dance movies, but I adored the final performance in Center Stage, Jamiroquai and all.
Added bonus: Cody Green (winner of Bravo’s Step It Up and Dance, former lead in Movin’ Out, and an amazing dancer and total hottie) is also in this.
I just squealed like a five year old. Yes, I’m 25. Yes, I should know better. This is still the best news ever in the history of mankind. But if Sascha Radetsky (Charlie) doesn’t make an appearance, so help me.

I seriously have not been more excited than I am right now. I always cringe when people don’t even know the first “Center Stage.” Did you know that Cooper Nielson is a teacher down her in NC where I live! I must find him!
LOVED Centre Stage. I wish it had been a bigger hit. But loved the dancing, and especially the ending dance. Hmmm… a sequel huh. Interesting; may tune in when it gets to DVD. But probably won’t be as good as the original!

Center Stage is my favorite dance movie of all time. I kind of hate that they’re ruining the magic of the first one by doing a direct-to-DVD sequel, but I’ll still probably watch it anyway.
However, it won’t be as good without those dreamy ballet hunks, Ethan Stiefel and Sascha Radetsky.
YAY! I pulled out my DVD and watched Jody Sawyer and her bad feet a couple of weeks ago. I wish ballet would put on shows like the end dance scene in Cooper’s ballet. I’d pay good money to see something like that. I will be tuning in this November to Oxygen!

I watched the Center Stage Sequel last night and loved it. I loved the first one but the second one was better. I cant wait until it comes out on dvd. Im getting it
I hope Mandi comments on this today. It was terribly cheesy, but enjoyable nonetheless.
