TheWB.com is ready to consume your workday

Categories: Television, Web/Tech

Thewb_lThe WB is not dead! That’s just Marissa. Buffy could get the chance to re-exterminate her (dream scenario, pictured) because now the two characters live on the same website! (The O.C. wasn’t on The WB, but Warner Bros. produced it.) TheWB.com, which launched yesterday, offers video-on-demand selections of fan favorites from years past (AHEM. I don’t see Felicity yet), plus a bunch of original series that’ll roll out in the next few months. There’s even something called The WBlender that lets you "mix and mash up your favorite shows," because who can sit through more than a minute of one thing these days? This blog item, for example. Thank god that’s over. If you’ll excuse me, I have to start really getting into Babylon 5.

Ummm…Felicity would be nice…let us all know when that gets added.

What no Jack and Bobby?! I can watch Buffy, Angel, and Veronica whenever I want on DVD. I was hoping I’d get to see it.

I can’t wait for more episodes of “Everwood” to become available!

  • Snarf

Will they be showing Birds of Prey?

will it be available in new zealand? i suspect not. sigh….

Hell yeah, Babylon 5! Sure, the special effects look pretty lousy after you’ve seen BSG, but really, a solid story that just keeps getting better and better.

It’s stuff like this that makes me want to move back to the US. World Wide Web my behind.

Any mention or pic of Buffy first thing in the morning makes for a GREAT rest of the day!

I no longer trust Warner Brothers not to screw stuff and after viewing the web site my distrust was justified: only one season of Babylon 5 and only a few episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly. Hulu has two full seasons of B5 and BtVS and all the Firefly episodes.
Furthermore, there’s horizontal scrolling and the episode list on the right hand side takes up way too much room. Maybe they’ll fix this since the site is still beta but for now I’m glad the shows are still up on Hulu.

We can access it in CANADA!!! Copy-friggin-rights suck! We are just like an hour away from the border…come on, just a little bit!!!

  • Matt

I think boo means to say that we CAN’T access the website in Canada. Thankfully, Canadians CAN use BitTorrent. I bet even Felicity can be found there…

Yeah….I already tried out the WBlender. The CW had something like that too. The WB’s clips aren’t that great though. The good thing is you can edit the clips while mashing everything to together. But of course, the music choices for your mash-up are just awful. Oh and the transitions are for 5 year olds. They need to fix that.

    EVERWOOD! EVERWOOD! EVERWOOD!
But… they need more than season 1! I have that on DVD, the rest isn’t freaking available (please let it be one day!). Still… EVERWOOD!!!
