Mighty Phelps family to eventually endorse everything

Phelpsmom_lHeadlining the "news" right now: Michael Phelps’ mom, Debbie, is in talks with clothing company Chico’s for an endorsement deal. Not familiar with Chico’s? You definitely know the commercials — imagine the phrase "Chico’s is beautifullll…" uttered repeatedly in a voice intended to knock you out cold on your couch. If true, this could turn out to be my favorite, and the least consequential, endorsement deal of all time. She’s so Chico’s!

Meanwhile, Debbie’s less famous son Michael, who has already, hilariously, signed a lucrative endorsement deal with Frosted Flakes instead of a gross "healthy" cereal, now has a $1.6 million deal to recall his eight Beijing races in book form. Silly publishers. Don’t they know we can just watch them online, instead…forever? Anyway, Michael, I officially volunteer to be the person you tell all your stories to whothen writes the book for you. All I’d want in return is one of your medals for personal use as a desk prop. That’s such a good deal, it’d be like winning a ninth gold medal. So you’d end up having eight again! Call me.

There you have it. America’s favorite family for about two more weeks is damn near unstoppable! Yeah, not a lot is going on. What do you want from us? This. I think you want this.

She is SOOOO Chico’s! Michael could also do well with those Jimmy Dean Chocolate Chip Pancakes rolled around a sausage on a stick things too.

Why not a commemorative Sports Illustrated DVD featuring each of his races in Beijing complete with swimmers commentary voiced over the events. Free with your paid subscription.

Hey I’d rather they get the accolades than some creepy politician. From what I have seen they are a good American family who have great work ethics. So I say go for it. Hard work and nice should pay off.

    Chicos! Yes! It fits perfectly!

There is a former (96 summer games) olympian who lives in my hometown – won 1 medal – and has bled every last drop out of that turnip since. I remember seeing him at the post office in 2002 and he was all geared out like he was on the bobsled team for the games in Torino. Dude – you were a summer olympian!
Note to the Phelps clan – we get it, he’s good, but don’t become the guy I just described – and that goes for Debbie too. Work on getting American sports fans to appreciate other sports for more than 2 weeks every four years if you want a legacy that people will appreciate.

    It’s a Chico’s kind of day!

My mother, a hardcore chicosphile, excitedly told me about this a few days ago. It’s a perfect endorsement deal all the way around.

Debbie, a single mom raising her kids without much support who is now a jr. high school principal, is an awesome role model. They have talked openly about Michael’s problems and learning disabilities at school (ADHD) and how swimming was a great place to channel his energy. Not many people would be so open about that! But she worked hard raising him, and he worked hard to become the greatest swimmer ever. So, I wish them all the best. Besides, she seems like a Chicos kind of lady. Didn’t anyone notice those floral tops she wore at the Olympics? Totally Chicos!

    I’m over Debbie Phelps.

Hooray for Debbie Phelps! Good for her. I am glad people like Michael and Debbie Phelps are endorsing products. They deserve all of their success and are much better role models than your typical celebrities.

Yeah, it was Listen 2 This. I liked those, but then they started not being exclusively about music, (they started to include video games & comic books too) http://cleaning.emenace.com/upholste2b/37.html stanley steamer carpet cleaning undefined
