Late August may be seen as a movie dumping ground to the smart (and cynical) folks in Hollywood, but for one brilliant player in EW.com’s Summer Box Office Challenge, last week was more like a gold mine. Said competitor, "imgladhesrich," fared best in a frame that tripped up many: While a slew of low-buzz movies bowed, each with a fair shot at taking top prize, it was Tropic Thunder that somewhat surprisingly repeated as champion over newbies The House Bunny, Death Race, The Longshots, and The Rocker.
But don’t worry, people! Hope remains, as there’s one more chance to give your prognostication muscles a workout before summer ends. Labor Day weekend may wind up being another slow one, but it’s set to feature four more freshman flicks (Traitor, Babylon A.D., College, and Disaster Movie) — which, of course, means more chances to win free DVDs in our game!
