Yessir Katie… chagrin. Uggh. I hate that word now. Its like someone left a faucet on, and every second you hear the “drip, drip, drip” of the water. Ugggh. *shivers* That’s why it is the c-word, not chagrin, cause I’d like to keep my brain in tact, teewhyveeem.
Aha the ‘c-word’. Yup I hate when Stephenie uses the words Chagrin and grimace. I just need to close the books for a few minutes in order to calm myself.
Ok over used words aside I preferred reading the first chapter from Edward’s point of view. Only because we hear other peoples thoughts too. That’s interesting enough to let me read through the book. It can’t possibly be as bad as Breaking Dawn was.

Okay haters. Chill out. I agree that these novels are not great works of American literature, but I took them as easy summer beach reads and enjoyed them all. Its a little lazy to me to write the same book over again, but apparently thats what the people want. Give them cake.
The first chapter was wgreat and all, I was excited to learn more about Edward. But when the other 11 chapters leaked, THAT got me! He is SO funny. I already know that Midnight Sun is my FAVE book of the series.

I read the first chapter of Midnight Sun and thought it was great. Specifically, because you DO get to see into the minds of all the characters in the previous books that you’ve come to care about. The first couple pages in the lunchroom were amazing due to that. Katy’s got a point though. Why the hell does Eddie C love Bella? I know it’s purely fictional but can you really say that if you were Bella you wouldn’t at some point say to your undead boo, “I want to be loved for me and not the way my blood smells?” Maybe in essence, those are the same thing. I need clarity and it’s this Twilight musing that keeps me going nowadays.

It’s great it read about an amazing looking vampire but through Edward’s eyes its a lot more interesting because of all the pain he goes throughout the story.I’m excited to read what he was thinking during the meadow part the most.

I’ve read the first chapter of Midnight Sun a long time ago (since it’s been in SM’s website for a while). And I agree, it’s a more interesting read because you really get to see who Edward is and the relationship of the Cullens…his mind-reading makes you see more than what Bella sees. I can’t wait for the book to come out.
