ABC has announced five new series for midseason: According to Variety, Castle, featuring PopWatch favorite Nathan Fillion, is a "comedy-driven, New York-based police procedural" that "stars Fillion as a novelist who helps the NYPD solve homicide cases." If there’s sexual tension with a female detective — and you know there is — I’m prepared to set my season pass now. Who’s with me?
Other midseason pickups include: The Unusuals, about a quirky NYPD precinct that employs Harold Perrineau, Amber Tamblyn, and Adam Goldberg; Rob Thomas’ Cupid reboot, starring Bobby Cannavale and Sarah Paulson; the sitcom Single With Parents, starring Alyssa Milano (nice of you to join us, gentlemen!), Annie Potts and Beau Bridges; and Better Off Ted, an office comedy that stars Jay Harrington and newlywed Portia de Rossi.

Season pass/shiny! indeed: I can think of no actor with his track record that deserves a hit as much as Mr. Fillion.
I agree! Nathan Fillion is amazing-I loved him in Firefly/Serenity/Waitress/Desperate Housewives/etc. He definitely is a talented and seemingly nice man who deserves to break into the A-list!

I’m so there; I’ve been waiting to hear of the show being picked up ever since I first heard about it. Now I just hope that it actually makes it to air, and then does well. I’m hoping that it scores a good time slot–and one that doesn’t compete with three other favorites.

He’s one of those actors i would watch walk across the street. He’s funny, sexy, and smart. Can’t wait for his new show and hope hope hope it is as good as he deserves.

I would watch Nathan Fillion in anything. Seriously. He actually got me watch Desperate Housewives for awhile, a show I generally despise. I’m not sure if I forgive him yet for that
but Castle sounds like a nice apology. So yeah. Shiny.
Ok…that picture made me swoon! Although, I am not that big a fan of the crime procedural..even if it’s comedy based…
Now Cupid…I am going to totally go nuts about that. I remember watching the original 10 years ago (YIKES!) and I hope that this one has more success. Plus, it might make my dream possible to have a Whedon show, a Fuller show, and Thomas show all running at the same time. I heart all three of them!

I feel you (but not literally!) I’ve had a crush on NF since his One Life to Live Days. And bonus, he seems to be a genuinely nice person. I’d watch just about anything w/ him in it.
Agreed on the appropriateness of this here crush. Also that psh! on the “sexual tension with a female detective” – we need no other reason than Captain Hammer himself to watch this program.

I missed the other midseason shows because I was too enthralled with the yummy Nathan Fillion photo to read the entire entry. So I think I’ve got an inappropriate crush, even without the exclamation points.
So,what is ABC’s problem that the NF show is a mid-season show? Dump one of those stupid reality shows and get it on!! I can’t wait!!
Nathan is back!! He just rocks, I first saw him when I watched the Buffy DVD’s, and I truly believe it was love at first sight…if only he could have seen me, sigh. Super shiny!

It’s good to see no power in the ‘verse can stop him, not even Fox (who, in all fairness, should now be gnawing off their own legs in reparation for cancelling him not once but TWICE). Phone book? Ha–I’d tune in to watch him read binary.
