Roi,
You have been an inpiration to me for 15 years. I will always hold you close in my heart and never forget you.
Growing up in VA I was blessed to be turned on to DMB in 1992. After countless shows I can say that LeRoi played the orns like nobody else could ever do. A silent man that blew the sweetest melodies and the most awesome jams. R.I.P. LeRoi Moore and thank you for blessing our ears and souls with sweet sounds that will live on forever.
I saw one of his last performances at
Nissan in Virginia. He truely was a amazing musician. I feel blessed to have seen him perform many times over the years with the Dave Matthews Band.
REST IN PEACE BROTHER…. Gennine H.
I’m so sorry for your loss DMB. My prayers and thoughts are with you and with Leroi’s family. I hope this can be a time to REFLECT ON THE GOOD that Leroi brought to the music world, and how he positively affected the lives of his listeners. I’m already hearing that ‘D’ note from #41′s intro ringing on and on and on. Rest in peace, Leroi.
This is truly a sad day, the world was a much better place with LeRoi in it.I saw DMB live for the 1st time in 2002, and haven’t missed their concert in my area since. They are such an awesome band! It will not be the same without LeRoi. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and the band. Play on in heaven LeRoi, our loss is certainly heaven’s gain.
For the 15 years that I’ve been a fan, for the 33 shows that I’ve attended, LeRoi will live on in our hearts, souls & the music we love. RIP LeRoi Moore. We will never forget you. xoxo
LeRoi, along with every member of the bad, was is and will always be a hero to me. His talent brought light to the lives of millions, and it is a shame to see that light put out from the world. There is no doubt however that LeRoi will shine above in heaven as he did down here, and that he will always play the most beautiful melodies for the lords choirs of angels. Rest In Peace my friend.
What better compliment an a man receive than “He left the world a better place”. Leroi Moore left this world a better place and he will be missed beyond comprehension. His musical contributions will be remembered for generations.
I was so sorry to hear about LeRoi’s passing. I will always remember all of those magical summer nights I spent watching him and the rest of the band perform. He will be missed. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. RIP Leroi.
Leroi Moore will be missed greatly. And what Dave said last night was so incredibly true. To leave IS better then to be left. But let us not grieve, he is in Heaven kickin it on the Sax with God.
RIP Leroi Moore. We will miss you.
I can’t even describe how devestated I am about LeRoi. He was a talented musician and a seemingly outstanding human beeing. I’ll never make it thru “Ants Marching” without thinking about him and his amazing sax skills.
RIP big Roi
Leroi should be remembered with the same joy that was felt when listening to him play.
The King is dead. Long live the King.
I am so saddened by this news. LeRoi was such an amazing musician….one of a kind. I hope Dave and the rest of the band can move on from this down the road, and create some amazing music in honor of him! RIP LeRoi, you will never be forgotten, and your music will live on thru your fans.
I remember hearing DMB for the first time over a decade ago. The drummer, the singer, the sax player…it just grooved like something none of us had never heard before. As a musician, I became an instant fan. They made music fun again and LeRoi was such a huge part of that. When I heard of his passing yesterday, my heart hurt something fierce, like I had lost a friend or family member. He will be missed dearly and his passing is a reminder to us all…tell those close to you that you love them. Every day is precious and we never know when that big calendar in the sky is going to have our name attached. Dave and the boys, keep jammin’. You have inspired more than you all can comprehend. You’ve managed to challenge this fairly conservative guy to think much harder about the world we live in. God bless you all and I look forward to seeing you soon.
