Spot Inspection: The last YouTube link someone sent you!

Yesterday, I received an email from my former cubemate Gilbert Cruz. (He’s now at Time, should any of you fans of his Heroes TV Watches miss him.) Included was a link to the video embedded below, with a note that said, "Watch this in its entirety. It’s incredible." I did. It’s Tom Jones. And Gilbert is right. I wrote him back asking why he’d sent it to me. "I just thought you’d like it… I sorta watch it every two days or so… You just don’t see performers going completely buck wild like that anymore. It’s utterly absurd, but I can’t stop watching it." (You’ll understand why at 1:16.)

How rare is it that someone sends you a link that you actually enjoy? Let’s do a Spot Inspection of your inbox and find out: What’s the last YouTube link you were sent (we won’t judge you, too much) and did you like it?

I have loved Tom Jones since I was a kid and we would watch his variety show. Find on YouTube the classic Tom Jones Las Vegas sequence from Tim Burton’s seriously underappreciated “Mars Attacks”. Aliens even love the Welsh sex god. Unfotunately, my sister sends me the most godawful youtube links and I refuse to click on them. The last good forwarded clip I received was the talking cats classic.

The last clip sent to me was the Christian the lion one. Made me weep like a little girl. I was so glad to find out it was actually a true story! (You know, ‘do you believe everything yo see on the internet’ etc.) And the Tom Jones clip solidifies my conviction that he is one of the hottest hotties of all time. Whew!

Neil Innes talking with host Terri Hemmert at the Chicago Fest for Beatles Fans last weekend – I was there, but waaaaaaay in the back. A pal who recorded this sent it to me.

Probably won’t be of much interest to anyone else but me.

In the opposite direction, I sent a YouTube link of The Six Million Dollar Man (Lee Majors) fighting Sasquatch from the ’70s TV show to a buddy of mine. Having both grown up with the show, he loved watching it!

Take on the initially lovable and then just plain annoying “Hey there, Delilah” by Plain White Tees. I haven’t so hard in I don’t know how long!

This has provided most everyone in my office endless hours of amusement.

My next-door cubemate sent this to me when I was having trouble getting over a cold, in an email titled “Don’t Watch While Eating!”:

It’s good advice (the eating thing, I mean). Yech.

This is one of the funniest videos I have ever seen.

I got the Alice in Wonderland trippy remix not long ago … it might be my new favorite song. Just google “Alice in Wonderland remix”.

I received this link from a co-worker less than an hour ago. There are a bunch of Dark Knight/Joker PSAs that are actually pretty funny. Enjoy.
