25 must-see YouTube sports videos

Categories: Sports, Tech

You don’t have to know Evan Longoria (the hot-hitting star of MLB’s Tampa Bay Rays) from Eva Longoria (the hot-blooded star of ABC’s Desperate Housewives) to appreciate the “25 Must-See YouTube Sports Videos” compiled on sister site SI.com. From the feel-good story of Jason McElwain (the autistic high-school basketball team manager given a chance to play a few minutes in what should’ve been a meaningless game) to the bizarre spectacle of an airplane making an unscheduled landing during a baseball game (not from Superman Returns) to the squirm-inducing hilarity of “Boom goes the dynamite!” (our personal favorite, embedded below, in which an aspiring sportscaster self-destructs on-air), these clips are endlessly entertaining. As Yogi Berra once said: "You can observe a lot by watching."

Poor guy! At least he was a trooper and didn’t jump that sinking ship. I would have been high-tailing it to the next state over after the first minute.

Man, I hope someone else teared up watching that one with the autistic basketball player. *sniffle*

You can just see his ears turning red on this tape – and that’s saying a lot. Poor kid! I hope he rebounded from this broadcast, no pun intended. That was painful just to watch, but he finished it!

I believe Letterman had the kid on the Late Show awhile back, both being Ball State grads and all. The tape was aired during the interview. Letterman cracked up at the “boom goes the dynamite” catchphrase.

I liked the Shaq serenade for Divac. And the Hoof Hearted horse, because farts (or even homonymous phrases) are funny.

LOL…that poor guy…that was just painful to watch.

Although very, very cruel, the “best prank ever” is hilarious to watch; it’s giving me ideas to mess w/ my friend and his gf.
