I believe Homer Simpson said it best: "It’s funny because it’s true."

Even though I thought this was funny and well done, I don’t think the creators of this video even read a harry potter book. The books are so much more then simply a boy avenging his parents “magic” death.
These guys did one on LOST as well. I love this Harry Potter one, though. Yeah, it might not be the most detailed analysis of some super high selling popular kids books, but it’s real funny. And why DIDN’T he just fix his eyesight? That makes a lot of sense.
If you read the books, you’ll realize why he can’t just fix his eyesight. Magic doesn’t work like that in those books.
I wonder how many flames you’ll get for daring to laugh at the greatness that is Harry Potter.
Omg that was hilarious. Don’t get me wrong, I love love love love, Harry Potter, but this was brilliant. Too early to nominate this for Must List? I’m totally going to say “magic” in front of everything now. Maybe the next children’s bestseller will be written by me. About magic!
If they can fix acne, fuzzy hair, and missing bones, my guess is they can fix eyesight as well. I still wear glasses cause I think it makes me look smart.
Besides… they’re all *magic* plot holes.
I agree with the commenter who says the people who made this video never read the book. Also, this video isn’t discussing plot holes (of which there are MANY) so much as a criticism of the series in general.
Hilarious. And honestly, fellow Harry Potter fans, please have a bloody sense of humour and don’t take this too seriously.
I don’t consider Harry Potter children’s books. I’m an adult, and I’ve never gotton the pleasure or emotional weight out of anything else I have ever read.
I love Harry Potter and this was really funny. I just love the way the promotional person keeps saying “magic!”.
Brilliant!
I recall Fat Tony saying “It’s funny because it’s true”, but I don’t recall Homer saying it. Fat Tony (voice Joe Mantegna) said it watching a particularly violent Itchy and Scratchy.
The “Magic” part was good. I was hoping it was going to be more detailed though. I don’t think they have read the books. The animation was good.
Homer said it watching Def Comedy Jam on TV. A black comic was demonstrating the differance between a “white dude and a black dude.”
Maybe I’m stupid or something, but what plot wholes are people talking about in their comments. The video clip doesn’t talk about plot wholes, but people commenting seem to know of many plot wholes. What are they? Thanks.
Whole: all of something
hole: missing part of something
Geez.
I think the video is basically saying why does Harry have to go to magic school at all; wouldn’t his magical ability mean that he wouldn’t have to go to school to learn magic. That’s one big plot hole. A magic plot hole.
Funny, but none of those things are plot holes. It would have been funnier if it WERE true, but it’s not.
In the Harry Potter books, just because you have magic ability doesn’t mean you know how to use it. The go to school to learn about magic and how to use it. It mentioned in the last book of Harry Potter what could happen to someone who doesn’t attend a school to help develop their magic abilities. An extreme case would be that of Dumbledore’s sister.
‘The need to go to school’ bit: Think of all things you glad you got instruction before doing, like driving a car, or medical school. I can hold a knife pretty well and know where the organs are, but I don’t think you want me to do pen heart surgery. J.K show this in the first chapters: Things happen because Harry doesn’t know how to do magic properly.
Those weren’t really plot holes. Still, that was rather hilarious.
There are numerous plot holes in Harry Potter (one – Why does Harry see the Hogwart’s carriages as horseless in the first four books when he has already witnessed a death, that of his mother?), but this doesn’t really deal with them. It is really rather funny though.
I am pretty sure that it is because he had never rode in or seen any of the carriages before his fifth year. I am not sure though. I have not read the books in ages.
I love it when people go out of their way to point out when someone has made a spelling or grammar mistake.
i agree with the previous commenters. this was hardly the plot holes of harry potter. doesn’t stop it being funny
