When I was 13 years old, I sported gigantic glasses, braces, and a dreadful pixie haircut. I was also the biggest *NSYNC fan in the world. I even owned their limited edition tapestry quilt. I was obsessed.
I’m older now, and while the glasses, braces, and haircut are things of the past, my weakness for boy bands is still apparent. I found this out earlier today at a press conference to announce the partnership between the Jonas Brothers’ Change for the Children Foundation and the Bayer Diabetes Care Organization. (Pictured, l to r, are Nick Jonas, Bayer’s Sandra Peterson, Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Jonas mom Denise.) At the press conference, Nick discussed his affiliation with Bayer Diabetes Care, which supports young people with diabetes, as well as the band’s recent single, "A Little Bit Longer," which details his fight with the disease. (Nick, the youngest Jonas, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes three years ago.)
Bayer then presented the Brothers’ Foundation with a check for $100,000, and while the band took questions from the assembled reporters, I found a mathematical equation for the strange feelings that began to take root at the pit of my stomach: cute, talented boys (who love their mom) + curly locks x philanthropic work = massive and uncontrollable crush.

Which bands bring out my inner teenager? Rooney. Sure they are adults but I first started liking them my junior year of high school and I get giggly everytime I listen to one of their songs. Unfortunately Maria, I also used to be a big fan of NSYNC but they were big during my junior high years I was weak and I didn’t know the difference between good and bad music. Thank God I’ve seen the light.

You’re right. Some teenagers can and often drive mature women crazy! It may be pathetic, but inevitable. But if there’s a teenager out there bringing out the sleeping fangirl or inner teenager that’s DAVID ARCHULETA. As a reporter said once, he sends tweens into premature ovulation and brings mature ladies back from menopause! Suddenly you discover you’re a 40 year old teenager! He’s just to die for with that voice and his awesome cuteness.

I’m a big Jonas Brothers fan, and I’m past tween, teen, young adult and cruising into middle age. I’m not ashamed to say that these guys are talented, and their music is great. And, just to clarify, they are not a gang of hip-hop dancing dudes – and therefore not a “boy band”. They are musicians, they all play multiple instruments and write their own music.

My favorite band of all-time is the Backstreet Boys, I saw them as recently as Dec. 07′ in concert. I am 22 years old and love the Jonas Brothers as well; I saw them in concert last week and was blown away. No one will ever match up to BSB, but these brothers come very close! They are definitely one of my faves! I love Kevin best…the other two are too young!
