Oh Kathy. I know there’s a lot of ass to kiss when you’re living life on the D-List, but did you really have to pucker up to Britney’s sloppy seconds? I turned a blind eye when you publicity-whored yourself out to former boy bander Nick Carter last season, but paparazzo and Spears paramour Adnan Ghalib? No one needs a Grammy that badly. Though I’ll confess, their driving "date" around L.A. (with requisite Victoria’s Secret pit stop) wasn’t as skeezy as I imagined it would be. But I did grimace/sneer/almost throw up when the two fake canoodled on Kathy’s balcony for the photogs waiting below.
Thankfully Kath’s raunchy rendezvous was only part of her gangbusters campaign to garner an Grammy for For Your Consideration. After a hilarious bus stop photo shoot with that guy who thought she was related to the Griffins from Family Guy (hello! they’re animated!), Kathy and Team Griffin headed to New York for a re-branding session with a few hired guns. I’m sure these execs make big bucks — and rightfully so — they captured Ms. Griffin’s self-deprecating vibe perfectly with those Amy Winehouse-esque, mascara smeared shots.

After her sassy photo shoot, Kath and the gang headed over to theCNBC studios for a fiscal check up with financial femme fatale SuzeOrman. I have to hand it to SNL’s Kristen Wigg. Every time Isee the real Orman, I can’t help but picture Wigg’s dead-onimpersonation. It may be a bit overdone, but I finally noticed thatOrman does have some of those lurchy mannerisms that Wiggaffects so well. But the session left me feeling bad for Jessica (or isit Jennifer?) thanks to an unnecessary Suze smackdown. Orman scoldedJessica for leasing her car instead of owning it, and not only accusedher of doing it to impress other drivers but told her it was the moststupid thing she would ever do. I’m no financial whiz myself (sorrythat business degree went to waste, Mom) but cut the girl some slack!What would Suze Orman do, indeed!
Back in L.A. it was time for Maggie’s five minutes of screen time(which got extended to 10 whole minutes this episode), so Kathy tookher mom to dinner with her stolen gays and later accompanied her onseveral interviews for senior magazines Golden Oldies (is this a realmagazine or a Time Life compilation CD?) and Eldr. She did make quitethe cute cover girl, no? And how great was it when she was so confusedas to why anyone would award Kathy a Grammy — she doesn’t sing or play an instrument!

It felt forced to me, but still funny. I think I would watch Kathy eat cereal and still laugh. Wish the rumour about her on DWTS was true. PLEASE KATHY!!!!!!!!!!!
I too didn’t get the quick Suze stop-by but I didn’t feel sorry for Jessica in the least. Leasing a car is stupid and Suze invited you to her studios! Just sit there and say “yes” even if you disagree with her. She’s Suze Orman!

Kathy’s right about one thing: if Bravo hasn’t already approached Maggie about a spinoff, they’re fools.

I just watched for Suze’s jacket. Her jackets are freakin’ fab-u-lous. I don’t follow her financial advice.
This was a much better episode with Team Griffin mostly in the background, and Maggie more in the foreground. The Suze Orman segment was definitely a cross-promotion among CNBC/Bravo (same ownership), but still worthwhile. I would enjoy seeing Kathy beg the producers of Dancing W/The Stars to be on their show…maybe that’ll be an upcoming episode…
I DO own a copy of “For Your Consideration”, Amy: after years of loathing Kathy for no tangible reason, I decided to watch the show for ammo, and ended up falling more than a li’l in love with her, coincidentally the same week that the album was released. Naturally I had to buy a copy to assuage my guilt. I have to say honestly that it’s not all that, in my opinion. It feels like she pulled her punches and I’m not sure that I ever laughed out loud (unlike last night’s ep, during which I did so at least six times).
I think she’s got decent Grammy chances though; as far as comedy albums go, I’m sure she’s one of the more high-profile album releasers of the year, and I say good for her! Get that Grammy, girl!
“Former” boybander, Nick Carter? FORMER? Dang, we’d best let the Backstreet Boys, who are presently in Canada on the third leg of their world tour know that Nick has left the group! I could SWEAR I saw pictures of him today from the concert in Newfoundland! Crazy…..

Loved when Suzy Orman put Jessica in her place–what was with her sourpuss attitude? Leasing IS stupid, because you’re spending $$ you’ll never see again. If you spend the same amount per month on a payment, you can sell that car!
Loved when Kathy squeaked “Ad-nan. Ghal-ib.” Hahahaha. Too bad the stuff with Maggie was kind of boring at the end though…
I absolutely loved last nights episode of My Life On The D-List. It made me want to leave college and go become a STREET MODEL (whatever that is). That guy was soo surreal like omg do adults actually act like that in Major metropolitan areas? And I do think I heard Kathy mention Oprah once last night on the show which made me feel really good cuz I dont know what I would do without an Oprah less Dlist. And the rumors that Jessica left might be true. She seemed really salty at Suze Orman studios. I mean shes Suze Orman you listen to what she says. The lady OWNS 7 houses all paid for. Power lesbian extraordinare. And the promotion pictures turned out really nice. I want that as my desktop background ASAP! And I love mama griffin she is smokin for an 87 year old woman! And I love how she says “The gays” as Kathy calls them. This show is the best thing Bravo has! Thank you Kathy for everything!
PS: I am so looking forward to next weeks episode. Playing POLO on segways? Crazy.
I thought the episode was great; especially loved when she shook her hand in the face of the girl who said she didn’t like her while on her paparazzi tour. Her comedy cd is hilarious.
Love the show, but this episode seemed just a little toooo staged. No one even touched the silverware. Must be some gay super power. But where can I sign up for segway polo???

Orman wasn’t given time to explain why leasing is such a bad idea. And Team Griffin did look stupid. They must be financially secure for just giggling at Kathy’s jokes. It was funny to see Mom’s hijacking the gays. Everybody’s so worried about the widow, but she’ll thrive on so much attention (covergirl!!). And Mrs. Kathy is truly clawing her way, that I wonder what outrageous thing is next. What can be considered “outrageous” when you think of Kathy? I’d love to see her “warm up” Oprah’s audience and watch them gasp in confusion and shock at what she says. Then when Oprah appears, they’ll fake a verbal slap down. Proving Oprah has a sense of humor, right? Are ideas for stunts like this what Team Griffin is paid for?

Kathy’s mom is an alcoholic, so I don’t like her. The show is okay. Sometimes Kathy is funny in a deadpan way, but sometimes I think she really means what she says and she’s not joking. If she says those things in earnest, they are not funny. Suze stepped out of line calling Jessica stupid. I kind of hope Jessica does quit being Kathy’s assistant. It must be a CRAZY environment, and not in a good way. Anyone raised by an alcoholic mother like Kathy was is going to have a crazy, chaotic life and enjoy making those around her feel uncomfortable. I would be miserable as one of Kathy’s assistants. If you are willing to make a fool of yourself, or more accurately, to allow Kathy to make a fool of you, I suppose you’d get on fine as one of her assistants. Jessica, I hope you gave Suze your middle finger. Personally, I own my car and it’s paid for, but still, if I were you and having to deal with Kathy every day, I wouldn’t want to hear a damn thing Suze had to say. Suze and Kathy can SUCK IT. Go, Jessica!

I don’t know what to think about Jessica. Part of me feels sorry for her for being pushed into the center of Kathy’s whirlwind life, but I see her getting attitude with Woz, his assistant, and Suze Orman, and I’m like, “lighten up!” Also, if she just quit and had it so bad being Kathy’s assistant, why have I seen her carrying a variety of Gucci handbags on the show? Those things are freakin expensive. Guess what billionaire Woz’s assistant was carrying? A Coach…only around $200.

Jessica is too hung up on appearances and she’s kind of immature. She thinks her tattoos make her edgy but inside she’s just another average, mainstream suburbanite who wastes her time watching TV and mentally loafing. I hope she finds a job where she learns that her attitude, education and skills are more important than what color hair she has.
I absolutely adore Kathy & Team Griffin. Thought the most hysterical moment was Kathy recreating the “prayer” she’s been reciting since she was 9 years old.
i think mrs. kathy shouldn’t sleaze herself out. i didn’t care for the canoodling either. as far as jessica goes… sure she’s been with kathy the longest, but she’s irritating. i prefer tiffany and even tom (with those weird crazy eyes).
I feel bad for Jessica being called ’stupid’, but one can easily make car loan payments instead of car lease payments, and resell the car when you want a new one…a lease is money down the drain and usually without a car to keep. But she has been ticked off a lot lately. I can see her quitting, but I can also see it as a ‘team Griffin’ publicity stunt. Maybe she should join Jeff Lewis (Flipping Out)and know what disgruntled really is?
Boy, Kathy is getting hideous. I would quit if I had to look at that fire crotch face all day.
