Jackie,
Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson were definitely a surprising pair, but at least they were both big stars.
My vote for oddest comedy duo in recent memory goes to Samuel L. Jackson and Eugene Levy (huh!) in “The Man” (though I’m not sure if they count as a comedy duo since the movie wasn’t funny).

For oddest comedy duo in recent history, I have to go with Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson in “Anger Management.” I remember seeing the trailer for that, turning to the friend I was with, and saying “Now those are two actors I would NEVER picture doing a movie together!”
