Where are you watching TV favorites online?

Briscoecountyjr_lStreaming full episodes of your favorite TV shows online is no longer the novelty that it was even a year ago, but it’s still bracing to discover just how many of your favorite shows, old and new, you can find and watch in just a couple of clicks. Here’s a list of some 50 sites where you can stream or download episodes of just about every show you can think of; some sites aren’t free, and some are file-sharing sites where you may run afoul of copyright laws, but most are free sites with legal and licensed content. And the gems you’ll discover — AOL Television (to name just one site) claims to have more than 9,000 full episodes, including several installments of The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., starring EW fave Bruce Campbell (pictured). Check out the list, let us know which sites you might add (keep ‘em legal, folks), which ones you’ve had good luck with, and which particular finds you’d like to share with your fellow P-Dubs.

Can’t believe Hulu is not on the list! I mean, if AOL Television is in it, why not Hulu?

i like guba.com for watching anime series…unfortunately, it’s not an actual streaming site, more like a version of youtube, so not everything posted turns out to be legal. which means you can wind up smack in the middle of a huge story arc and then the next day guba has pulled the remaining episodes ’cause they’re responsible that way. (jerk who posted a bootleg full metal alchemist, i’m looking at you!!!)

I heart HULU for their full length versions of FNL.

  • Crystal

hulu, abc and abcfamily have the best streaming sites. I’ve watched every ep of Greek online.
I’ve never watched an ep of anything online at CBS that didn’t hop, skip and jump all over the place.

Elly- On that site, are the animes dubbed or subbed? If they’re subbed I’ll head on over there (can’t stand dubbing). I usually get my anime through torrents.
And I’ve been watching episodes of “Jack of All Trades” on Hulu.com.

Love Hulu for Arrested Development and 30 Rock. Also I do the Netflix-Browse Instantly.

The adventures of Brisco County Jr was a great show!

  • Torin

30 Rock. Thanks to NBC.com I’ve see just about every episode of seasons 1-2 twice.

  • Nancy

Hulu or the network website. I’m surprised Hulu was not on the list.

Why is Hulu not on the list?

Shot in the dark: does anyone know where to find the Twin Peaks pilot online? It was a movie-length episode. All the usual suspects start with “Traces to Nowhere,” which was the first hour-long episode but was really the second episode in the series.

There’s alot of info on Twin Peaks at Fancast #34 on the list…

Here’s another FREE site: surfthechannel.com. It has a huge selection of shows. The only downfall is that the shows have been uploaded into 10 minute segments, but it works!

  • Dan Daoust

gabriel, same issue, it starts at episode #2. I sense that the pilot has separate ownership rights or something, and the owners have yet to discover the internet.

where can i watch british shows online for free/possibly legally? i had to watch spaced illegally (whoops) and i desperately want to se “this life” and youtube is SUCH A PAIN to watch full eps of anything….

  • Valerie

I’m from Canada, and I can’t get Hulu, or most of the other sites for streaming TV episodes, such as all the network sites. I am, however, looking forward to trying out many of the other sites, which I had never seen before. Thanks, guys !

  • monica

i either watch it on Netflix or on the network website of the television show like nbc.com, fox.com, etc.

  • anne

    Never do it.

I use Yidio.com daily and it is the perfect online video site because it combines videos from every video site. Why not use a site that combines all of Hulu, AOL, YouTube, and Veoh videos to a single site and allows you to search them? Makes things much easier to watch and find.

     Free Online Internet TV

if you are looking for multi-lingual tv, online tv social community, social tv network, internet tv stations, tv channels, free global internet tv, broadband channels, live webcast, customized tv programmes, After testing various TV software and visiting loads of sites. most of them offer a free trial or preview and then they make you pay to sign up, or are cluttered with ads. I think that is ridiculous… so ive done my research and have found a couple of really decent sites. The first one Id like to draw your attention to is (http://www.viewmy.tv) This site has almost 2000 channels from around the globe and counting. it is free to register and they dont ask for stupid details, just your username and email address. It actually streams live channels so you dont have to download any and they have a pretty easy way of finding the channel you want. You can search through genre, country, region or name of the channel. oh and there are no ads either. Check this

Lycos Cinema is missing from the list. Particularly for classic TV, Lycos Cinema has just added dozens of TV show episodes to its already extensive library. Newly available shows free for viewing include: The Beverly Hillbillies, Lassie, Groucho Marx, The Lucy Show, The Andy Griffith Show, Mister Ed and more. What’s unique about the Lycos Cinema viewing experience compared to other video sites is that Lycos Cinema allows fans to watch and chat with friends or fellow fans simultaneously. It’s a social experience – you can wise-crack with other fans while watching your old (or newly discovered) favorites. The landing page for Classic TV is here: http://cinema.lycos.com/promo/ctv . Full disclosure: I work with Lycos.

This online TV site just launched:
    blinkx Remote – http://tv.blinkx.com
Seriously I’m addicted – it’s a compilation of ANY full-length TV show online from all of the networks. No need to go from site to site.
It’s a ridiculously fleshed out list of show titles (South Park to the A-Team!) and well-organized.
Bonus: it’s free AND legal (woohoo!)

    Dan:
Re: Twin Peaks pilot, try imdb.com; they’ve been posting all sorts of full length episodes, even Firefly. I discovered Dexter and Weeds on Netflix instant play (love it), not to mentin oodles of Law&Order seasons. You can even catch new seasons of shows that get updated every Friday, commercial free. Let’s just say Heroes has been saving pertinent bits for the DVD set. ABC has the best network streamer, tho I catch all my TV online on the network sites nowadays. CBS has the worst streamer, and they stopped posting Mentalist and 11th Hour, so so much for that. I’ll have to try some of the others listed, thanks for the tip!
