The acting may not look Oscar-worthy, but Robert Pattinson, as Edward, sure looks hot!Trailer No. 2 for the movie adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s bestseller Twilight (read EW’s recent cover story) is clearly trying to convey that this is an action movie. Fair enough. It just makes me wonder how much time they’ll be spending on the opening does he like me or hate me? tension between Edward and Bella (Kristen Stewart). I want them to torture us with it. Luckily, I also love seeing Edward in protective mode, even if evil James (Cam Gigandet) isn’t freaking me out like he did in the book. Yet.
Are you still counting the days until the film’s Dec. 12 release? (Kill some time by weighing in on our "Team Edward or Team Jacob" debate. More than 2,000 votes have already been cast…)

This redeemed the movie from last week’s EW cover shot (sorry – neither one of them looked ‘right’ – I would’ve gone with the group photo). I started reading Twilight for a second time this week, in case I missed somethings, but I am hoping they keep all of the book in the movie. No need to cut anything out.
Love it, can’t wait, even though, yes, the acting isn’t Oscar-worthy. I mean, what can you expect from a book that wasn’t literary-genius? But, it looks GREAT. Excited much? Yes. Very much.
Also, a friend and I were discussing, why wasn’t Luke from Gilmore Girls play Charlie, Bella’s dad? HELLO, he would have been PERFECT. People wear flannel in the Pacific Northwest, don’t they?
I agree that James isn’t quite evil or hungry looking enough for me yet. But I’m still so excited for the movie!
Wow. This is much worse than the teaser. It makes it look really…ordinary. The “Watchmen” trailer, on the other hand, that’s something special.
It’s amazing. The movie is going to be awesome. James is perfect. Now Victoria concerns me though. She’s got to be way more evil than James, and I’m not seeing it at all.
I think the new trailer is awesome. I thought the part where the cars are racing to get Bella away and the creepy music in the background were great. I got chills. I cant wait for the movie to come out.
Where’s the link? Snarf angry. Snarf smash! (Opps wrong movie, but still…)
Well……it kind of looks like a preview for a new CW series not a movie
Well, I’m a member of Team Jacob myself (I cringe a little inside when I say this, as I am a 24 yr old woman). But I must say, if Rob Pattinson were the acutal Edward, I would maybe have to switch teams and become a vampire myself. Yummy. I’m on the fence about the books (the writing really isn’t that advanced, and Bella & Edward get on my nerves), but am excited about this movie. Every time I saw Goblet of Fire, all I could think was “Will someone please put Cedric in another movie.”
Rob is fantastic as Edward and delivers his lines brillaintly. I wish we could see him deliver the two lines he says with such passion as a voice over.
The way Rob delivers the line ‘The hunt is his obsession’ is fantastic.
I wish we could see him say the line.
Sweet! I can’t wait for The Lost Boys! Err, wait.
Kristen’s delivery of her lines is poor. So flat and monotone. I noticed on IMDb others are saying the same.
Rob has tremenoud screen presence and I loved the way he says The hunt is his obsession. The passion in the line is brilliant.
I’d love to see how Edward looks in the sun in the cinema trailer and more emotional scenes between Bella and Edward. Also some lighter moments between the two of them.
This mini trailer focused on the plot which I can understand but it did lose some magic as a result.
I coudltn help but think it looked like a cheap Buffy episode.
I must second this though, the acting does looks questionable.
Thanks Mandi for writing about Twilight…
I don’t think the trailers are really doing the movie jusitce/ the books but i still love it anyway….beccause its twilight
If possible, the movie looks even worse and more stupid than the book.
I didnt think the trailer was well put together. Kristen’s acting was very poor. She has no emotion in her voice.
You dont get much sense of passion between Bella and Edward in the scenes shown.
I think Robert is perfect though and I love the way he delivers the lines that we just hear but dont see.
Dont get why they didnt show him saying those lines though. There was too much of James.
Love it!
I like how it looks like Victoria, James, and Laurent look like they’re ice skating, or something XD
How can you say that trailers aren’t doing the movies justice, when no one has seen the movie? Looks bad. I don’t get all this hype. Marketing, not the prospective content, is making this movie a phenom.
Its ironic that Rob got flack when he was picked but is proving to be a wonderful actor.
Kristen on the other hand seems to be the weak link. She says her lines with no emotion at all. Like a robot.
Rob is going to be a huge movie star. He has charisma, screen presence and a tremendous intensity. Very happy with him.
The trailer shouldnt focus so much on Kristen delivering her lines as it seems she is the weak point. Hopefully we are just being fed her worst lines and she’s better in the film.
I liked the teaser trailer for the most part, but this is pretty bad. I can’t stand Kristen Stewart. I know the books aren’t great literature, but I still love them, and I have a feeling this movie is going to be a huge disappointment.
Rob rocks. Definately the new British acting superstar.
Robert is awesome in Twilight and its a shame we didnt see the lines he delivered so well on the audio. He is a perfect Edward.
I’m slightly nervous about the lack of emotion in Kristen’s voice.
Since I haven’t read the books yet, I need to dig in before the movie comes out. But I agree with Elizabeth’s comment that the EW cover shot looked “off.” They both looked pale enough to be vampires, and RP’s too-red lips look odd.
I wanted to see more tender moments between Edward and Bella in the trailer.
They used a very heavy hand to splice scenes together to get across the plot. Workmanlike but it lacked flair.
I didnt like the way Bella listed Edward’s traits. It sounded so flat and lifeless.
I preferred the first one as it had at least the close up between Bella and Edward when he saves her at the caar and the smirk before he takes her out of the window.
Focusing on James just made it look like a tv programme.
Im very excited about the movie but I have a feeling the movie wont live up to the book. Edward was picked well but Bella is just ok. She said her lines like she was trying to hard. It was kind of annoying.
I also have a problem with Kristen’s delivery. I;m worried she’ll mess the film. Rob is wonderful but if she is poor then he’ll get tarred with it too. Hopefully it wll be solved with just a few pieces of redub in the editing suite.
I hope we see more of Rob speaking in the full trailer. Its all well and good having him do voice over on a trailer but we need to see him deliver the lines too.
The full trailer needs more light and shade in it. Show the two leads in a happy scene as well.
I like the trailers, even with the lack of emotion from Kristen, and I hope the movie is going to be good. Rob looks as if he’s doing a fantastic job, and I absolutly love the actor who’s James!
I love the twilight book serious.
Im so excited for the movie and i dont want to bash on any of the actors. Unfortunatly i think that kristen stewart could have put more emotion in what iv seen so far. I know she doesnt want Edward to know shes desperatly in love with him yet, but thats the great thing about bella it shows no matter how hard she tryd to hide it. I didnt feel that.
I hope i do at the premire.
Rob on the other hand, made my heart stop. He is Edward.
