Radiohead's 'House of Cards' video: No lights, no camera, 'action'

For Radiohead’s new "House of Cards" video, 3-D plotting technologies reconstructed the geometry of Thom Yorke’s face and the two directors’ houses. Cameras and light are sooo June 2008, so they didn’t use those things. The resulting laser-light show is exactly how I pictured "House of Cards" in my head. Ha! No. That was this. Anyway, even if the video’s a little too Epcot Center’s Journey Into Imagination for your tastes, it’s a cool concept. Here’s how they did it, and here’s a Google Code page where you can shape-shift the video’s data yourself. I don’t see how your boss could catch you spending a half hour on this and not think you were being productive. Trip the light fantastic, below.
