My friends like to say that I’m fickle, and the only time I have to agree with them is when I try to recall a password for something. My passwords tend to revolve around the people that I’m into at the moment they need to be created. So I somehow have to remember that when I joined this one site, I was fond of NASCAR driver Casey Mears (pictured, right) and that he was still driving the #41 car (mears41), and that when I joined another, I was seriously psyched that Sylvester Stallone (pictured, left) was filming a fourth Rambo (Stallone04). Of course, I don’t remember the passwords, which means I’m constantly resetting them. Thus, a vicious cycle is born. A random selection of other retirees: Parker97 (for South Park cocreator Trey Parker), Colbert01 (for Stephen Colbert), Seeley08 (for David Boreanaz’s character on Bones), and, um, Daniel18 (for Daniel Radcliffe).
Your turn.

I like to use ROUS with random numbers as a password…. cause TPB is my favorite movie and one of my favorite books
One of my passwords is “zeusandapollo” which were the names of Higgins’ dobermans on Magnum PI. Of course, now I have to change it!
We have to use numbers, letters and symbols in our passwords (which we have to change monthly). I use a variety of Pokemon characters – provided by my son. Example: T0g0p3! (Togopei).
one of my passwords is “lafawnduh” which is Kip’s Girlfriend’s name in “Napoleon Dynomite” – and also happens to be my cat’s name, so is easy to remember
Yeah, I’m skipping talk of passwords (because I still use mine) in favor of squealing over Casey Mears. Yay Mears mention! (And that’s a great picture of him – back when he had a decent haircut.)
I’ve been using different variations of passwords based off of Keyzer Soze for the last ten years. I just play around with the spelling a bit. Good times.
I always use pop culture references to help me remember my passwords. I go from using initials that represent my fav bands to my fav movies depending on my mood when I am creating a password. A really old one was remdmbbt(REM, Dave Matthews Band, Blues Traveler).
My PIN code has been 1701 since I was 16….
When I quit my last job, I had to let everyone know that my passwords were all Schrute (followed by random numbers).
Furry Tom is back. Woohah!
Song titles usually by Led Zepplin…And I’m not that big of a fan!!
Daniel18? Naughty, naughty Mandi!
And howdy furry_tom! We’ve missed you!
“macca1″ is my password to get into software at work (added 1 because it required a numeral) – Macca is a nickname for Paul McCartney. I’m sure an upcoming one will be “bosco”, just like George Costanza’s ATM password.
I usually have director ones to unlock my computer: scorsese, ptanderson, mmann, etc etc
I use Randal from Clerks. I started using it waaaaaay back, and still use it today (although maybe I should change it now…)
I used Bubbles, Buttercup, and Blossom for a while, going back and forth between the three. I had a small obsession with the Powerpuff Girls for a while
When I was in college, I had a crush on four different celebrities. Somehow I remember that the password was “lvTJJS98″– for “love,” the celebrity initials, and the year– but I cannot for the life of me remember who the crushes were….
Well, one of my email accounts has had the same password for thirteen years: ewan. For Ewan McGregor. Whom I fell madly in love with at the tender age of 12. This email account was also my first one ever, and obviously I don’t care about its security.
just wanted to yippee for the casey mears nod…i miss the 41 car, haven’t been a fan since he lost it…fickle is as fickle does.
I used to use “leia” as in Princess Leia.
As a huge NFL fan, I tend to use different player names & jersey numbers from my favorite team. Betcha can’t guess which is my favorite team!
My former email address handle was “yayamidala”–based on the book (not the movie) Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, combined with Queen Amidala from Star Wars. (I was in college at the time, which explains a lot.)
In terms of passwords, I too have used actors on whom I have a crush. Past passwords have included: ilovejason (Bateman), ilovehank (Azaria), and iloverainn (Wilson).
Also, when I was in law school, I saw “Spamalot” on the very first night of its pre-Broadway tryout (Hank Azaria love, remember?), so spamalot became my password for the following semester.
Over the past few years, I’ve had some passwords that reference Harry Potter. And I used to have a couple that refer to Josh Peck (originally got his start on Nickelodeon, but is now growing up quite nicely!) b/c I have a mad crush on him.
Wow, didn’t know I was missed. Like I said below, new job, less time for slacking off. [tear]
Every password for all my emails (since ‘97) has been some X-Files reference, usually either “david” or “mulder” after my love for David Duchovny. I am only a little exicted for next weekend.
For the LONGEST time, my password to everything was TroyAikman. Couldn’t help it. Was obsessed.
I won’t reveal my password, ’cause it’s so good, but I will describe it. I chose the name of one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite shows as my password. Notice that I didn’t actually choose my favorite character or show (which would be too obvious). As for the password hint, it’s really hard. It’s just a single word from my favorite line spoken by the character. No one I know will ever guess my password, which is the way I like it.
At work, I rattled through the player list of the Montreal Canadiens (past and present, depending on my mood). Which meant when we got a new employee, the poor guy had to learn to spell “Chouinard,” which was the password-of-the-moment.
All passwords are from either my favorite band, the Pixies, or my favorite team, the Dallas Stars. Mike Modano’s name and number are used A LOT!!
I like to use one show as the inspiration of all my passwords. I use to use the same password for everything, but I figured I should stop doing that. In the past I used Alias, so one password would be bristow, another derevko, I mostly use last names. If something requires a number I use either the year the show premiered or the number of seasons it ran. Then every year or so I switch out, Bones, Gilmore girls, etc.
