I see these pictures every day too. He looks so damn awkward in those positions. So awkward.
I was just thinking, he’s really getting overexposed. Like, literally. Did you see the People photo spread?!
I don’t get it – if he’s playing Zack, then he’s barely onstage throughout the whole show. He’s just a disembodied voice…
… which may be the only way I would be able to take him. Perhaps the casting director is a genius after all!
When I saw “A Chorus Line,” I was literally right across the aisle from Zack’s stool. Luckily, it was Michael Berresse, because I couldn’t stop looking over at him when he was talking. He actually kept in character, making notes on the head shots and resumes as he went along.
The hype upon hype for Mario hasn’t translated into ticket sales for A Chorus Line. I couldn’t stand him and that fake smile on DWTS and the only good thing about him playing Zack is that he’s in the dark for most of the show.
I find him slightly creepy.
Ack! He’s everywhere! I saw hin on the cover of People and TV Guide magazine, and then I was channel surfing and saw him hosting some dance show on one of the MTV channels. I too find him slightly creepy, so I don’t like seeing him everywhere I look!

Ugh, that’s unfortunate. Every day on my way to work I walk through the subway station where the entire place had been Dark Knight-ified. I love it!

I agree that MOST of the SBTB gang is, in varying degrees, “creepy”. At the high end of the scale…Mario and definitely [!!!!] Dustin Diamond. :::::shudder::::: But Tiffani Thiessen? Rowr!! Hated her in the Bell years. Loved her ever since 90210.

As if his creepy cheesiness wasn’t bad enough, he can’t seem to keep it in his pants long enough to be faithful to a fiance or girlfriend. If he were a woman with such a trampy reputation, “People” would have never featured him so prominantly.

I agree with Lawyergirl. the marketing does not fit at all because Zack is barley on the stage, and when he is, he’s talking to his ex girlfriend Cassie. Mario Lopez is not such a big deal.
I actually went to see A Chorus Line “Now With Mario Lopez!” a couple weeks ago for a friend’s birthday and they expanded the role of Zack specifically for Mario. He’s onstage in the beginning dancing with everyone and then comes on to talk to Paulo and does the scene with Cassie, then he’s back at the end. He’s still gone for most of it. I love those posters they have on the security things at Duane Reade – he looks like he’s going to jump out at you! A little early-90s nostalgia makes me smile.
And by Paulo, I mean Paul.
I think Mario Lopez is the geekiest looking guy in the universe. It’ a shame that such a hot body has been wasted on someone who looks like him.
