Name That Movie Mondays! (Vol. 3)

You remember how it works: We embed a song. You name the film that song was used in. Everyone who answers correctly feels good about themselves.

This week’s track is "And When She Danced" by Marilyn Martin and David Foster. Below, it’s set to a photo montage of Martin and Foster that also includes poorly transcribed lyrics.

After the jump, the official video with scenes from the film…

The movie is 1988’s Stealing Home, starring Jodie Foster, Mark Harmon, William McNamara, and Jonathan "Tune in, Tokyo" Silverman …

I actually knew that one! I own the soundtrack (but never saw the movie)… it also had a song by The Nylons that I wanted, back in the day when you had to buy the whole cassette if you wanted a single song. Thus, I know this song, can sing along – and am completely shocked that there’s another person in the world that can name it!

The song was used in Stealing Home with Jodie Foster and Mark Harmon. I recognized it instantly.

I love, love, loved this movie!!! William Mcnamara was so hot!! I was so infatuated with him.

I’ve never even heard of this movie?!? But I did queue Strictly Ballroom from last week.

Stealing Home!!! Okay, is it sad or awesome that I watched this movie less than a week ago? I was in the mood for something comforting and emotional and this was a favourite when I was a teenager. “I love you, Billy Boy” and the boys singing “Poison Ivy” on the boardwalk…good times.

I had to add another comment because I just saw your “Tune in, Tokyo” reference and almost died! Girls Just Wanna Have Fun is definitely one of the best 80’s movies containing one the best montage scenes ever, hands down. Plus, it contained the completely irony-free “This. Means. War!” line as spoken by the snotty rich girl (whose costume in the final dance-off I still covet to this day).

Marilyn Martin? The same one who sang “Separate Lives” with Phil Collins? There’s a one-hit wonder who didn’t even have her own hit to herself.

It’s actually “And WHEN She Danced”, I’m just sayin’…..

    Thanks for the catch, Athens99
