And the nominees for The Final Cylon are… (Vol. 5)

Mickeyrourke_lMickey Rourke. It would explain a lot, no?

And with that, you’ve got my complete list of candidates: The Olsen Twins, Oprah Winfrey, Alf, Dakota Fanning, and Mickey Rourke. Anyone else you’d like to nominate? (Of course, if you want to know who I really think is gonna complete the Final Five, simply click here.)

    Re: your real theory NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Argh, I just started watching “Battlestar: Gallactica” about 3 weeks ago. I’m only halfway through season 1. When you started posting these Cylon nominees, they appeared to be spoiler-free and just for fun so I kept reading them.
    Then you did this one.
At least 2 of the real Cylons you named I already suspected. I don’t think I even know who the other 2 characters are yet.
I think there definitely should have been a spoiler warning on this since it didn’t follow the trend of the other posts. Ultimatley, I have to blame myself though. I should have avoided the posts altogether.

You read at your own risk – don’t be silly….

  • Wojo

Yeah, I know. I just thought it was safe because the other 4 posts were so innocent and had nothing to do with the true plot. This one broke the trend in a big way. It’s my fault anyway. I just needed to vent.

Re: your theory: He was on the ship and three said only 4 of the final cylons were on board. So no it’s not him.

  • ames

I don’t think Apollo is the final cylon, but I appreciate the link. A LOT!

Wojo, I feel your pain, and accordingly tweaked the item to not give away the names to BSG newcomers like yourself. Sorry you got spoiled…but you’ve got to be careful reading items about shows when you’re a couple seasons behind. Not to worry, though, there are plenty of other surprises in store for you to enjoy on BSG!

Am I the only one that noticed on the last episode of BSG that when DeAnna was demanding the unknown Cylons, she mentioned that only 4 were on Galactica, and that all of the main players were on the Galactica at the time? I thought it inferred that the final Cylon was one of the people on the Cylon ship with the president. Am I totally off?

  • Wojo

Thanks for the sympathy, Slezak! I normally am pretty careful since I watch a lot of TV shows on DVD long after they originally aired. But like I said, the other 4 posts didn’t have anything close to actual plot info so I was lulled into false security and thought there was no need to be cautious…and then BAM! But it’s alright because you do an excellent job anyway with all of your articles. Keep up the good work! Plus, I guarantee you’ll save a couple other people from agony by hiding those 4 names that are now etched forever on my brain…haha.

I agree with the previous commenter…I don’t think it’s Apollo, but I’m up for any excuse to see him shirtless. Thanks!

SPOILER ALERT! I’ve got SPOILERS in my post, so if you haven’t seen the final episode yet, DO NOT READ MY POST.
I finally watched the finale this week and am totally turned off by the weak ending.
Come now. A segue into a few more episodes in January? We STILL don’t know the 5th Cylon? And I’m not even going to touch the cop out they did with Earth. The Sopranos played us like that and gave one of the most unsatisfactory show endings of all time. Could BSG be far behind?
I was nervous when it hit me how closely this series followed the story of the original series and feared they’d end with something lame (like the moon landing from the old BSG).
Instead, they made it even lamer. Finding Earth still in the middle ages would have been less stupid than the most recent ending.
The final Cylon? Ron Moore, the guy who writes this show.
    Will BSG be far behind?

  • Ellipsian

Whew, Slezak, I’ll click there ANY day of ANY week!

Moore has said repeatedly it’s not any of the lead cast in the Last supper photo, may be a ruse, may not be. But think about it, it would be a serious cheat to the audience if they couldn’t explain it right. The one person I think who makes sense as a cylon, and who fits in to Deanna’s quote “Four are in your fleet”…Ellen Tigh.

I agree with the anon poster at 2:59, I though the final Cylon would logically be on the basestar, which puts Prez Roz and Baltar the in running. I’d rather someone new but astonishing, perhaps found surviving on Earth.

  • Stef

While the final Cylon is not Apollo, I do appreciate the link! My guess? Apollo’s brother. Whoever it is had to set off the beacon on Earth for the planet to become visible, so it’s someone that has had somewhat of a head start. We already know they can make it look like someone ‘dies’ in a fighter (See: Starbuck) and that’s how baby brother Adomma died. Plus, Starbuck has a thing for Cylon males.

If Mickey Rourke is a possibility, then I think Corey Haim should be too – he looks like a younger version of Mickey these days!
