Why, oh why did they ever cancel this show? I caught on DVD and watch the most captivating 13 episodes ever created. Forget the sci fi/western spin, forget the special effects. It was brilliant show about characters, with unbelievably good writing and acting. Compare that to good shows today (House, Lost, etc.) after their first FULL season. Still can’t believe how well developed Mal and crew were. It kills me to watch these clips on Fridays.

Indeed, Jeff, I rarely saw a show is characters so well developed and miss it dearly, although I am still happy of its limited run and missed chance to suck (90210 college years, anyone?). Can someone please enlighten me exactly why did Firefly not end up on the Top 100 list? If not for anything else, I still wait on a My So-Called Life or Freaks & Geeks movie.

I’ve decided I don’t like Firefly Fridays anymore because they just make me sad that this show is no longer on TV.
Made my Friday, once again. I can only assume you forgot yesterday was my birthday and this is a late birthday present. Two of my favorite Jayne moments (the other being when River says to him “Jayne is a girl’s name”). Thank you, as always, for Firefly Fridays!

I should never have given my then girlfriend (now wife) my “fighting Elves” t shirt. She threw it away, the company that sold me the shirt got ceased and desisted by Fox, and the crap they sell at Cafepress is the wrong color.

Jayne is the only reason my husband and I watch “Chuck.” I mean, the show is okay, but Jayne is on it! And we still call him that — I can’t even remember the character’s name on Chuck. Sigh — Adam Baldwin, you’ll always be Jayne to me.
If we can’t have the show back on tv permanently, at least give us another movie. A mini-series on sci-fi at the very least. Another DVD package with more extras? Anything?
I heart Adam Baldwin! He IS Jayne-nobody else could have played that character like Mr. Baldwin. I get to see him at Dragon*Con in two months and I could not be more excited!!!! Now I have to go watch my Firefly dvd…
I agree with Hamburger Royal: How did this show not make the Top 100? Few shows are able to flesh out such vibrant, realistic characters in such a short time. And no other “failed” show of the past 25 years was turned into a brilliant movie either…Bummer, EW, you missed the mark on that one.
i agree with just about everything said. i love this show. does anyone know the name of the firefly movie. i have not seen it.
