bonnylass, I believe I said “more and more Americans are uneducated”. What you’ve said is “Americans are getting dumber by the day”…your words.
Nice try, though.
It’s amazing…so many of you act as if I’m the ONLY person around who has these negative feelings about our present pop culture (“Oh no! He’s trashing our beloved Hollywood system! What are we going to do???”). It’s become that I’m the only one who’s not afraid to make his negative opinions known, regardless of how other’s might react.
By the way, I DO get a kick out of these online confrontations! They put a smile on my face! Keep it coming! You can’t resist!
Eric–calm down, buddy. First of all, whether you said polls show Americans are becoming dumber or less educated is irrelevant; either way you made it up. You are of course welcome to criticize tv to your heart’s content. The problem is, you don’t actually bring anything to the table. It takes no intelligence at all to call someone an idiot or to denounce tv as garbage. So until you manage to form some sort of coherent critique of something, ANYthing about television, I assure you I’ll have no problem ‘resisting’, and ignoring you altogether.
“Two recent polls, a Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll and a New York Times/CBS News poll, indicate why Bush is getting away with impeachable offenses. Half of the U.S. population is incapable of acquiring, processing and understanding information.”
(just an example)
Of course, you’re right, bonnylass, buddy – I must have made it up. I simply had nothing better to do.
My convictions stand! Today’s pop-culture media of television and mainstream Hollywood movies are, by and large, CRAP. The studio execs who greenlight projects like reality TV, movie sequels and remakes, know quite well that they’re targeting an audience who can’t seem to understand that their intelligence (those that have some) is being insulted. They rely on the ignorance and they ultimately make money from it.
Have a nice day, buddy.
