Common has always struck me as an easygoing kind of guy, so it definitely threw me for a loop to see him putting a gun to a cubicle worker’s head last week. Then I remembered that Common is a talented actor as well as a dope rapper, and that I was watching him in a trailer for the movie Wanted. Moving on! All the gravity-defying assassin action in that trailer got me looking forward to Wanted‘s June 27 premiere. In the meantime, here’s another little taste you’ll find only at EW.com: An excerpt of a chase sequence involving James McAvoy and Thomas Kretschmann on a hurtling train, Angelina Jolie in a car nearby, and the spectacular collision that ensues. (Though sadly for me, there’s no Common in this scene.) Check it out below, and weigh in — how psyched are you for Wanted?

I’m psyched, but I do think an action sequence is pointless to show on a youtube screen. Kinda lacks the intensity of the big screen.
I saw wanted at a premiere yesterday night. there are some good action sequences, but the movie overall sucks. This is a typical movie where a guy had some great idea for SFX, and they wrote a “script” around it, not the other way around. tons of cliches, lots of bad acting, stupid story. Some good humor, and James McAvoy is good. Nothing to be Psyched about, although the crowd seems to like it. they saw it for free though.

Wall-E is coming out the same day Wanted is I’m more excited to see that .
hey, not enough james mcavoy in that clip! grrmp.
James McAvoy is so talented … and so easy to look at! I am way stoked about Wanted!!!
I’m excited.
I have been waiting MONTHS for this movie which was pushed back from it’s date in March to turn it into a summer release, and all I can say is the more I see the more I excited I get to see it!!
Looks stupid in every trailer and commercial, and no less so in this clip. (Nice acting by the computer animators, though!)
Am I getting too old when I see a scene like that and feel for the (nonexistant) innocent people who are killed in the car that tumbles into the chasm? Kinda takes the fun out of the action for me to think about the people who died screaming in terror while Angelina Jolie looks super cool.
James McAvoy is near the top of my list of actors I’d watch in anything. So, I’m a bit excited about any movie that will get him in front of a wider audience.
I just hope they stick somewhat to the book. This was one of my favorite comic book series, and while James McAvoy wouldn’t have been my first choice, Angelina Jolie looks perfect.
I’m with you, Mac Evoy. That was the first thing I thought of–”those poor people!” I can’t watch all these Power Ranger-inspired destructions of cities/trains/etc. At least on those silly kids shows, you could SEE that the buildings were way fake. CGI makes things look too real, and it’s not fun to watch a disaster like that happen for entertainment. Too much in the world happens just like that, and it has real consequences. I just can’t find that stuff “cool” anymore. And for everyone who is going to say “lighten up it’s just a movie”: yeah, I know that. So save it.
Yeah – this clip makes me want to see the movie less.
Have to agree with Jennifer, Mac Evoy, Kisha and Julie. I have begun to like my action w/o so much :colatteral damage”. How about an old fashioned movie where the only ones to die are those directly related to the fight? Really unnecessary to drop an entire train care of people off a cliff to make a point. I think I’ll go see Wall-E that weekend and save this for DVD like Jumper. Sad, too, because it looked very cool when I first saw the trailer last year.
It’s a fntasy. give me a friggin break. It’s a comic book, alternate reality. Doesn’t bother me one bit and will be first in line to see this.
It’s a fantasy. Even children know the difference.
