Personally I am outraged that SAG is taking such a strident stance. If the WGA, AFTRA, and the DGA can all make a deal why not SAG? Are they blind to the hurt the WGA strike caused? Maybe a lot of them don't make a lot of money because they don't work a lot because...they just aren't that good! What is the membership...? 120,000? They aren't all Olivier and Hepburn. I find it interesting that Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs said he could live on working for 4 months a year (a Forbes cover story last year)... as long as you didn't mind not being a superstar. Hmmm, work 4 months....off 8 months...sounds good to me! SAG... get a grip and get over yourselves and get back to work... or at least work as you know it. I doubt its anything like an office worker, garbage collector, policman, fireman or truckdriver would call work.

As previously pointed out, TV and movies have barely recovered from the writer's strike. (And their's was a much more sympathetic cause.) The SAG people have to figure out if it's really worth it to call a strike.

The SAG should keep this in mind: Do they really think the viewers will support them in this? The writer's had a very good point - they weren't being paid for a lot of their work. But these are actors we're talking about now, many who are overpaid. They won't really get anything out of this.

When writers come up original ideas for dramas amd sitcoms (so that actors don't waste their time on worthless dribble), then I'll care. G-D bless Hulu and You Tube.

I cannot believe how selfish Hollywood is being. Do you know that the WGA Strike cost California 2.3 Billion in revenue, and likely caused the current bankruptcy that plagues the state? Not only that, but hard working crew members like Tom are forced once again to be unemployed. Unbelievable. The fact that AFTRA was able to come to a deal so quickly points out how unreasonable SAG is being (and selfish for wanting to ruin AFTRA's deal!)
If the actors strike now, I will definitely not support them.

We're living in a country plagued by threats of terrorism, a crippling economy, insane gas prices and, oh yeah, U.S. soldiers dying in a president's private war in Iraq. Somehow I'm just not going to lose any sleep over another writer's strike. Like many have said, we can catch up on our reading and our DVD collections.

Exactly why no one has the foresight to predict the imminent doom of Hollywood's near future if this actor's strike goes as planned is beyond me. The writers strike bruised loyal viewers (24 fans like myself really felt the pain with a canceled season instead of a truncated one) and will keep harassing workers who don't depend on syndicated ratings for revenue. And now, it might happen again? Well it's never too late to catch up on older shows at this rate...and all the books I've been meaning to read.

While I sympathize with those who are worried about missing their favorite shows, there are many of us who have even more reason to be afraid. I, for one, can't really afford to miss another several months of work, and most other crew people can't, either.

People barely came back to tv after the writer's strike forced us to watch crap (as viewers) and talk about crap (as fans). Even the great Annie B was left to wax poetic about the sort of reality tv shows our favorite writers usually make fun of.
Why give the ratings an even harsher beating than they took last year? This act demonstrates a lack of forward thinking on all parties here. Especially me. I need to get some DVDs of unwatched shows ASAP before a tv strike is upon us...again.
