I am not sure yet about better than idol but I do think the talent is over all more well rounded. I think for the people who liked Brooke and Jason, this show has potential.

If my Chief Petty Officer ever saw me on stage, “performing” in uniform, he would have dragged me back to the brig all by himself. YOU DO NOT DISHONOR THE UNIFORM FOR PERSONAL GAIN – IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OF FORM! It’s in the Uniform Code of Military Conduct and I just about puked when I saw it happen on Nashville “Stars”.

I think I’d really like this show if I didn’t think it was rigged by NBC. Charley Jenkins was clearly better than several of the other contestants. He may have went through the audience, but that’s what the producers wanted him to do. He was set up big time! I also think it’s dumb that the judges voted someone off instead of letting America decide. Of course that all plays into the fact that NBC rigged it. Just like everyone else, Charley was given a number that people could call into. The word going around is that NBC decided to let Third Town or whatever they’re called back into the competition after they had already been cut (if you look closely you can see it in the editing- Third Town members bawling after being cut, etc.). Anyhow, bringing them back in caused problems because NBC didn’t have enough time slots on air for the amount of people they had to vote off. So NBC picked someone who they thought would bring in less viewers. BAD CHOICE! They lost a lot with that decision!

Another sucker! The editor of this story (Mandy) got sucked in by Jason’s good looks as well. Hmmm, just like NBC wanted it. People are saying NBC HIRED (yes, I said HIRED) this guy from a modeling agency all for ratings. What a crock! He needs to be on America’s Next Top Male Model (is there such a thing?)—not a country singing show. He truly sucked compared to the others. I can’t wait to hear about his live performance (I’m not watching this lame show again either), but this way they won’t be able to do 3 takes to make him sound descent! Of course his song choices will be simple, so we’ll see.

I thought Third Town was terrific!! I’ve seen those guys a couple times, and the truth about it is they all do take turns singing lead. If you want to call them cheesy…that’s fine I’ll eat them up while I enjoy my wine! It’s called “entertainment”!! But you wouldn’t know that, cuz you just sit behind a desk all day pointing fingers at others. Heard that Third Town had been up over 55 hours straight and still pulled off an EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE!! My vote is for Third Town, the under dogs all the way!

I was lucky enough to catch last weeks episode of Nashville Star. I was very impressed by Ashlee Hewitt’s performance. She gave me goosebumps!! I am totally tuning in Mondays at 9pm to see how far she gets!!

Wow! Are those judges mean and nasty! It’s almost as bad as watching Hell’s Kitchen!

Gabe is the real deal. Why do the judges feel they need to mold him into something slick.

Billy Ray – my god man, you look like crap. Makes me wonder if you even took a shower before you went on stage. Have you no pride in your appearance or respect for others? No kidding. You looked like a drunk wandered in off the street.

This season is very lacking in talent and some of the contestants are downright painful to listen to. Billy Ray is a dimwhit that after being a country music star and tv personality you would think he would know how to read a telepromter. He gives country music a bad reputation.

I was very offended by what Mr. Rich said about Coffey. He said he wasn’t counrty, and that a cowboy hat wouldn’t make him so. I think he should check history. What makes you counrty? Is it being white and growing up on the farm? My family is from the south they have land ,horses, even trailers, and guess what else SOUL!!!!!!!!!!!
Many blacks can and do sing counrty with soul. I can’t say for sure but I reckon there some of that white boy, redneck, racism in his heart. Only the good lord knows………..
