Loved the Tropic Thunder viral…Downey Jr. in particular was hysterical and looked to be having a ton of fun.
The pot smoking “skit” before giving an award to RDJ was just such bad taste, I couldn’t believe it.
I actually got so hot and flushed when Johnny Depp came out I almost couldn’t stand it. How can he be so good looking and not give a s???. It drives me crazy. He drives me crazy.
I don’t care how bored Edward Norton looked, although I didn’t think he did, maybe a little nervous….anyway I don’t care, cuz he is HOTTTTTT!! I love Johnny Depp, but he doesn’t hold a candle to Norton, also MTV sucks…Zak Efron and not Jonah Hill?!? Really?
I loved that Johnny Depp was there. It’s cool that he actually showed up to accept the awards. And of course he looked really hot. I liked the ‘Get Smart’ guys but other than them and Johnny it wasn’t as entertaining as I thought it would be.
The ONLY good part of the whole night was the “Tropic Thunder” promo skit. Ben Stiller calling out Robert Downey, Jr.’s shady past was a classic moment. Again, (they also had a fantastic skit at the American Idol finlale) these three proved they can promote their movie and be funny, something Mike Myers has failed at, twice.
Edward Norton had every right to look bored. And the “real movie star” dig was unnecessary. Will Smith might be a great movie star but he’s a mediocre actor. Norton may be a mediocre movie star (you think so, I don’t) but a truly great actor. Leave him alone.
If only girls voted then Sex and the City would have won for best summer movie. Hello!
how did you fail to mention the highlight of the MTV movie awards – the tropic thunder viral video! classic
i wish mtv executives take note of the comments about MOVIE PARIODIES, everybody miss them!!! they were the essence of the show. Tropic thunder viral, rocks!! thumbs up for it… and mike myers a shame…
I kept the volume very low until I heard either “Robert Downey Jr.” or “Johnny Depp”. Then I turned it up, swooned over them, and promptly turned it back down as soon as they left the stage. I try to avoid MTV as much as possible…
I got to say I really enjoyed the “Waynes World” part and the viral video, and the catering chick spoof. It seemed to me that Myers was just trying to relive his SNL days, letting himself and his comedic friends pretty much have free riegn over the show.
