I agree with the other people who said if you want to see a “remake”, see the Tim Burton “Ed Wood” movie. The brilliance about Ed Wood was that he was so oblivious to how bad his movies were. Is the film maker in this case wanting to take something camp and make it edgy? If so, then it’s going to fail miserably. We love Ed Wood movies simply because they are bad and part of their charm is how oblivious Ed Wood was as to how bad his movies were. Next thing you know, someone will want to do a remake of “Manos: The Hands of Fate” as a serious, character study of Torgo.

Unfortunately most of them are deceased, I think. Conrad Brooks who played one of the cops is still around, but he may be the only one. Vampira died only a few months ago. She was interviewed for the recent documentary “Vampira: The Movie” (http://www.vampirathemovie.com) and talks about the making of “Plan 9.” It’s very interesting!

well, ill admit it, i am truly looking forward to this movie, i truly love the original, for all its dumbness, and stupidity, its a great film, and johnson, has dont a few good ones thus far… of course, they are all quite campy, lol… so to see him do a serious retelling, i am really looking forward to…

As bad as Plan 9 is, Glen or Glenda was 100 times worse, I’d call that one the worst movie ever made, either that or Jaws 3D.

He wants to make a “character-driven…serious-minded retelling of the original story, paying homage to the spirit of Wood’s film without resorting to camp or parody”?? EXCUSE ME? The only way to pay homage would to make it even worse that it originally was!! (if that’ possible). And let’s face, ED WOOD was basically the remake anyway.
