I’m not fully versed in Stephenie Meyer’s world of romantic-but-chaste teenage vampires, but the teaser for Twilight (opening Dec. 12), which debuted in theaters over the weekend and is streaming now at MySpace’s Trailer Park, looks pretty darn cool. Hardcore Edward-and-Bella-philes can geek out over at MTV.com, which has a shot-by-shot analysis of the clip. For everyone else, let’s just say that Kristen Stewart looks like she’ll do fine as the strong-willed mortal Bella; Robert Pattinson seems properly courtly (and toothy) as her bloodsucking beloved Edward; and the action and FX look kinetic enough to dazzle even those who haven’t read Meyer’s bestsellers. Watch the teaser below, and see if you agree that it makes Twilight look like a movie you could sink your fangs into.

OMG! I am SOOOOOOOOOO excited about this movie! I’m addicted to the books! (Yes, I’m 27 years old and screamed like a little fan-girl when I saw you had this up!) Can’t wait! Squee!!!
OMFG!!!!!! I have already watched the trailer 10 times in the past hour. I am freaking out and totally slacking at work. I am the worst excuse for a head librarian ever! And I have you beat Jamie – I am 37 years old and I am geeking out like a teenager over it.
Me too, Anne, me too! It looks amazing! I am impressed…
Glad to know I’m not the only adult freaking out over here! My four year old came in and wanted to know what I was screaming about!
I am SO excited for this movie!!! I’ve loved the idea of Robert as Edward from day 1, he looks amazing! I am so in love with these books, I’m positive I’ll love the movie.
You know if you watch the Quicktime HD version full screen with all the lights off it’s like you’re in a theater… not.. that.. I’ve done that or anything…
Looks a-mazing! Loooove Rob Pattinson!
I’m just about midway through the book and was actually just thinking to myself that they could never make it into the movie as they’d never find an actual guy as perfect as Edward is supposed to be. Though the trailer looks great and I am looking forward to seeing the film, I stand by my original thought. Reminds me of when they filmed “The Firm” and the main character’s wife and then the woman he has an affair with were supposed to be unbelievably beautiful. Obviously, beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I didn’t think either lived up to anticipation.
Count me in as an adult who is acting like a teenager about this movie. I had serious doubts about Pattinson as Edward, but this trailer changed my mind. He has the Edward smile down. I’m still very disappointed over the casting of Jacob Black (not seen in this trailer).
So excited!!!!!!!!!!
I am reading the book right now and I really enjoy it, I am happy that the trailer showed what I have read so far and nothing more. I know this was a book written for teenagers about teenagers, but I am feeling giddy as one for December to come and I can see this film.
SO excited. The books are absolutely amazing, and this trailer tells me the movie will not disappoint. December cannot come fast enough.
Interesting. I really thought Pattinson was going to fall flat on his face trying to fit every teen reader’s vision of “perfect”, but he looks like he’s going to do a surprisingly good job.
I’m not insane about the books, but I do feel like they’ll make excellent movies. So yeah–I’ll be there.
Pattison is brilliant as Edward. I’m a little worried about Bella though. I definately need to reread the books. And I’m 30-something and squealed a few times myself. Cannot wait for December!
I can’t wait for December! I wasn’t too thrilled about the casting of Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart, but from the looks of the trailer their chemistry is great. And Robert’s hair is perfect.
I can’t wait – I’ll be there in Dec! (And in line for the 4th book in August!)
