Okay, let’s just get this out of the way: I cried during this episode. I know, I know. Read the full post.

OK -Folks. The possibility that such a decision would come down in a court of law was not based on Brennan’s culpability but on the issue of no direct evidence to specifically tie her father to the crime.
But no one is commenting on the sad look on Booth’s face on the courthouse steps as he DISTANCED himself after Max hugged Brennan. In the final fade Booth is walking AWAY. I think this verdict and how Brennan could apply herself toward that end is going to introduce serious conflicts between the partners as well as from external onlookers.
And, when it was declared that “you are looking at one fine woman,” in regard to Brennan – was anybody else thinking, “What about the fine man that made that all possible for her?” Booth could seriously jeopardize his career as an FBI Agent because of his allegiance (and hardly veiled love) for Brennan. He will risk everything for her.

Booth helped Bones realize that she needed to stop being a scientist and just be a daughter. Any daughter would do what she did (i.e. throw herself under the bus) for her father. Will there be professional ramifications for Bones? We’ll see. But Booth and Bones are stronger than ever. He helped save her father. Period. Their bond won’t be broken. I don’t think Booth thinks less of Bones for what she did — I think he loves her more for showing her heart on her sleeve.

Lance, exactly, why didn’t Booth, get any praise, he was the one that made it happen. I have noticed that the writers are always bigging up Brennan, she can do this, she can do that…YADDA YADDA YAWN…I wannna see the writers give Booth some kudos for being a great man, father, FBI Agent, friend, partner, son etc., I would like to see more of the spotlight on Booth, stories revolving around him.

The epi annoyed from the start with Brennan’s fake laugh (woeful acting ED) Angela’s dramaramma’s please shut up, she is your friend we get! If she has a problem about testifying about a murderer, change jobs. The verdict, seems that crime pays. The lame Brennan could of did it, prove it make her re-enact the entire event, bet she can’t lift the body from her place to the hotel roof! Just stupid!

The thing I enjoy most about the Brennan/Booth relationship is that Booth knows exactly what he wants with Brennan and always gets hurt when she accepts their interaction purely pragmatically. I understand the need for her strong independence. The prince rescuing the princess has been turned on its ear in this show so that the prince helps the princes discover herself while he hopes that she’ll somehow get “girlie” toward him. The subtle fact he can touch her anytime while no other person but Angela has such access is awesome. When she occasionally becomes vulnerable I am a total sucker and wonder how Booth can be so . . . patient(?) except he puts her interest ahead of his own. Fantastic. Unconditional acceptance on Booth’s part. Anyone agree?

I’ve got to say this: Booth is the ideal man for who women are trying to be, these days. He is the Ken doll with the macho-on-demand characteristics of G.I. Joe. He’s got the heart and soul and is a non-threatening, teddy bear, pretty boy but he is also secure – taking a secondary role, making less money, not getting the credit – his compass always points to what’s honorable and true. He’s the best qualities of what men strive to be without women having to share his struggles and strife. He’s a hormone and vitamin supplement or the perfect, obedient pet. A fully posable get-no-action figure.

Last for tonight (No promises about tomorrow). I always wonder how Brennan cld write a novel or wld even want to with her lack of social skills. Max is still a wanted man for the bank heists. He’s cleared on the murder charge but wld be held – not released – for the string of break-ins (for which he only remains alive) to stand trial. Angela and Booth are the Ying & Yang of the same personality & are merely foils to flesh out Temperance as Wonder Woman. All of a sudden in the past 3 epis (out of order as they are) Brennan has become sensitive and emotive. Huh? Did she get hit on the head or something to cause this? She expresses much more deep feelings about Booth and laughs too easily. She would otherwise never have been so “chummy” with Sweets’s girlfriend, for example, or made the social overture on the phone, “I look forward to meeting her . . .” Booth has been beaten and tortured; Brennan & Hodgins buried alive; Camile has been poisoned: That leaves Angela/Zach to get shot?

Abby – as a courtesy, since you asked and I did not see an answer, that ending song was “Fountain” by Sara Lov. The album is not scheduled for release until late this year but you can search for her and buy online (I think)

Love this episode. Great, as always, but quite honestly, I didn’t cry.
