Last Thursday, I happened to catch the same Dolly Parton concert at Radio City Music Hall that my colleague Mandi Bierly so amusingly blogged about. Read the full post.

…and I’m actually considering the NKOTB reunion. I wasn’t old enough for concerting in the late 80s/early 90s.
i think that if i had the power to time travel my list would be quite large, but the thought of seeing the stones or bowie, etc. just doesn’t appeal to me.
More of you should have Bette Midler on your list. She is an amazing, thrilling performer. She lights up the stage with her presence. GO SEE HER in Vegas if you can, you’ll regret later on if you don’t!
Muse. Muse muse muse muse muse. I missed their last tour and I’m still kicking myself.
Good post.., dude
Patty Smythe was right…Tina IS Rock and Roll. For the history lesson alone, she is worth the price of admission. THink about it – you’ll belooking at the culmination of the history of Rock and Roll – from the black chitlin circuits of the 50s to the R&B circuit of the early 60s, the rock emergence of the late 60s/70s, the pop re-invention of the 80s, the polish of the 90s till this day.. One stop shopping.
When I first heard about TINA’s tour, I looked into who the opening act would be. I know the PERFECT group; LAI, Little Anthony and The Imperials.
I’m sure there are some who’ll say ‘Little Anthony, is he still alive?’ or, ‘I remember them, they’re a doo-wop group – right?’ or there may be some that think of them as a ‘nostalgia’ act. The answer to those questions would be; YES – Anthony and The Imperials are still VERY MUCH alive – and while the group had a couple of doo-wop hits, they made the cross-over and had more chart hits with their R&B material. As for them being a nostalgia act – nothing is farther from the truth.
I know these things because for the last year I’ve been their touring bassist. Anthony’s voice is as good as ever and the group puts on
a HIGH ENERGY show.
They’re celebrating their 50th Anniversary and have a BRAND NEW CD with NEW MUSIC!
They may not be the first group that comes to mind as opening act – but they deserve serious consideration.
I want to see before I die…Little Antony & The Imperials with Tina Turner…..LAI has a show that rocks and seeing both of them together would be a highlight of my life
