Dolly is indeed truly amazing, though she does have a tendency to use the same jokes a million times (I heard her sing “Drag Queen” in concert 4 years ago). Bette Midler is really the queen of stage banter. On tour, she and her team do their homework on each city, and always provide a few “local jokes” that have the hometown crowd in stitches. I’ve seen her play in cities I wasn’t familiar with, and I had no idea what the jokes about the local politics and neighborhoods meant, but the rest of the audience was eating it up!

Sounds like Dolly makes for a totally fun show. I’ll have to catch her in concert sometime.
Also, I agree with the reviewer above: I also saw Michael Buble in concert in March (Nashville), and he is fantastic at working the crowd. My cheeks hurt from laughing so much. He’s a riot!

Michael Buble can work the crowd like nobody’s business, too. I saw him in march in Houston, and he was so funny and adorable. He has a great rapport with his band. He even faked the audience out by pretending to sing “Fever”,and sung a little of
“Houston” instead. His banter with the audience was hilarious. Check out the
“Caught in the Act” DVD for further proof of his revelry.

but all these newspapers reviewed madonna’s little show except EW. i say backlash because there hasnt been a popwatch blog about her since 4 minutes debuted (not even the video)… oh well… yay dolly! (she does rock btw)

madonnas concert was radio and music executives promotion thing. You know, callers who are the a certain number picked by the DJ or they get a trivia question right, win. She did this for her Bedtime Stories promotion.
As for Dolly. Wow. How much do those things weigh?
