Last week, photos of Miley Cyrus surfaced in which she was playfully flashing her lime green bra (oh no, Hannah Montana wears a bra!). Read the full post.

The pictures are artistic but not right for a magazine, maybe something she should of kept at home in her diary. But she’s too young to make those decision, that’s what parents are for. They’re both survive just fine though. I think her apology was very appropriate and I feel bad for her.
Okay, so as a gay man with NO interest in this girl sexually whatsoever, I see nothing wrong with the photo. The girl is 15, not 6 which means she’s at least able to come to decision on her own whether something she’s doing is skanky or not ESPECIALLY when she has bright shining examples like Britney and Lindsay as reference points. I like that she looks demure in this photo. I like that she has more over her chest than just her hands (a la Janet Jackson). It’s a simple portrait and WAY less racy than a completely naked Vanessa Hudgens video. I think people are being way to overly dramatic, just because Miley is one of the few stable female tweens left. Get over it. Girls get older, they want to express themselves. We’ve gone over this time and again. America just needs to get off the moral high horse because it’s making us look like rabbid, uptight, melodramatic pinheads. It’s just a natural artistic photo for Vanity Fair, not a center-spread for Playboy.
PS – for further proof in the true lighthearted nature of this photo shoot, check out Vanity Fair’s website to see the behind-the-scenes snaps as they are setting this photo up. She’s being a goofball making faces and having a good time. Nothing overly sexual or racy was intended. They were just having a photo shoot and having fun. But typical people need to have something to rant about in the media are the only ones making a big deal of this.
I was a child at the time, but I don’t remember this much publicity/controversy when Brooke Shields was in Pretty Baby.
I agree with many things already said, on both sides. I find it sad that a good role model for young girls did this, with her parents support. To me, she looks vulnerable – which is not how I have ever seen or heard her on talk shows. I agree she does not look very healthy there, and the pic with Billy Ray is border-line too. I question the motives, of all the participants.
Artistic ? Yes. Age appropriate ? No. She’s just 15 yrs old. I am shocked. This is not the Miley Cyrus that my daughters love and admire. Yes, she’s now becoming a young lady, but the bottom line is she is just 15. Way too young to pose like that on a magazine.
It’s beautiful.
There was plenty of controversy when Pretty Baby came out. We just didn’t have 9 million weblogs and message boards to fuel the fire.
I think it is a beautiful picture!!! I am 23 and one of four girls and the fact that people think this picture is so scandalous is absolutely ridiculous!!! Does anyone remember the past Disney girls who grew up?? I.E. Christine Aguilera and of course Britney Spears?? What were they wearing when they were her age??? The same thing if not more provocative. Honestly, the fact that this tasteful picture (taken by the always tasteful, and well respected Annie Leibovitz) has made such major headlines is completely ludicrous. She isn’t naked she is showing her back and beautiful face. My little sister is about her age and she is a dancer, her costumes are revealing and oh my God actually show her oh so “provocative” back. While she is getting punished for being in a respected magazine my sister and fellow dancers get praised for how wonderful they look. I could understand this outrageous scrutiny if she say, had a Paris Hilton moment… But SHE doesn’t…. I’m not eve

Nobody has any decency anymore. Showing that amount of skin at ANY age is inappropriate. If anyone read the Bible anymore or cared about God, they would understand why.
Miley’s parents were on set the whole time so if she or her parents felt uncomfortable they could have stopped it. Everybody is blowing this whole thing out of proportion, she is just a normal teenager, we all make mistakes. at least she is covered up, and who knew that a 15 yr old showing her back in a magazine was so wrong? Miley should not be sorry for what she did, it is a beautiful picture!! =]
Who knew the ending of South Park’s recent Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery”-themed episode, predicting that Miley Cyrus would be the next young, female starlet the media would build up only to voraciously rip apart later, would come to fruition so quickly? And is anyone else at all alarmed by how much control a corporation has over one person? It brings to mind the days of old Hollywood when studios owned actors and could make demands about everything from what you wore to forcing you to have an abortion. I picture Miley in a room right now surrounded by old, balding Svengali-esque Disney executives getting yelled at and berated because she didn’t manage to keep her image right where it belongs: exactly the right position between “not sexy enough” and “too sexy.” Congratulation, America. We’ve done it again!
