I hope all you Popwatchers have checked out my EW.com video-interview series Just A Minute (the latest installment features Forgetting Sarah Marshall star Jason Segel). Well, this Monday, April 21, I’ll be interviewing Segel’s How I Met Your Mother costar Neil Patrick Harris about his priceless self-skewering cameo in Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. And I need your help. So in the comments section below, send us a question you’d like Mr. Harris to answer; we’ll pick the best one and include it in my Just A Minute interview. In the words of Barney on HIMYM, it’ll be awesome.
Ask Neil Patrick Harris anything!

You still speak to Vinnie Depino?
Dear NPH, two questions:
First, has “coming out” impacted your career in any way? I was one of those who was clueless until your announcement, but who still cheer you on. Your roles as Barney and as the parody NPH in Harold and Kumar show that you can play a hedonistic straight guy as well as any actor.
Second, I find a lot of similarities between Barney and your NPH role in Harold and Kumar. Where did your inspiration for these hilarious roles come from?
What would Doogie think of Barney?
What would Barney think of Doogie?
Or did Doogie grow up to be Barney?
Are you watching Big Brother this year?
I’m so jealous! I’d love to sit down with Neil Patrick Harris. Can you please ask him if he has any plans to return to the theatre? He was amazing in Assassins.
Did you get to keep your “Colonel Klink” outfit from Starship Troopers?
What’s been your favorite Barney catchphrase you’ve uttered so far? Have you come up with any of them yourself? Also, do you write Barney’s blog? Please tell me that you do, even if that’s a lie — I’d like to think that you are really every bit as awesome as I imagine you are.
There’s an internet rumor that you slept with Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim. We know you’re gay, but are you THAT gay?
Do you eat White Castle burgers?
Do you like the other CBS comedies?
It seems like sitcoms have come under fire a lot in the last few years, and sitcoms that were once popular would never survive today. I’d like to know in what ways NPH thinks sitcoms have changed from when he was on Doogie Howser (and maybe in what ways they haven’t….)
How does one get to be so awesome?
And… Are you getting sick of questions that relate to Doogie Houser? If you answer yes, then you just offended me.
Please ask NPH if he knows that every time I do something, I ask myself, “what would NPH do?”
a recent HIMYM episode parodied the ending of Doogie episodes with Barney writing his thoughts at the end of the day (complete with Doogie theme song). And the Harold & Kumar movies are also playing on disbeliefs that you must be just like Doogie. Are you having as much fun with the references as it appears, or are you tired of being attached to Doogie? Is that how you’ve always felt, or is this something that’s changed as you’ve grown up?
On a scale of Awesome to Awesome, how awesome is it to be so awesome?
Please ask Swarley’s question.
I second Swarley’s question!!
I just want to take this opportunity to say thank you. I told myself that I was straight for years because I was scared it would completely define me if I were gay. Then I saw a clip of you on Ellen, and seeing the two of you together, I realized that you are both thought of as extremely talented and reliably hilarious people who happen to be attracted to members of the same gender. It made me realize that being gay was a part of who I was, but it was not the definition of me. Having now come out, I’m so relieved that I was able to see that.
Here’s to a long, varied and prolific career. You deserve it.
um…won’t it be “legendary” ?
Please either 2cents or Swarley’s!!!
How bad did Britney’s weave look in person?
Oh yeah, and did you have a hard times getting roles after “Doogie Howser, MD” ended? Were you typecasted in any way?
To NPH:
Clearly you are a very versatile actor with a record of playing stand-out characters. Having conquered TV, Broadway and movies, is there anything else (a particular role or project) that you’d like to tackle next?
I currently have my recording of Assassins playing in my car and you truly have a remarkable voice. Do you plan to return to Broadway or will we get a musical episode of HIMYM just so we can hear you sing some more?
I know you like you some Broadway (as do I). What’s your favorite show?
When are we going to be so lucky as to see you and David B star in a Broadway show together? What would be a good property for the two of you to do?
This is EW so I dunno if they’ll ask this question since its not really entertainment based, but as a gay man I feel its worth asking anyways especially for younger homosexuals.
Neil, you’re one of the most well-known OUT actors in Hollywood these days, that still continues to be appreciated for your work both on HIMYM & in movies such as Harold & Kumar. Your co-star on Doogie Howser M.D., Mitchell Anderson was also an OUT actor. Did he help inspire you to be okay with being gay, when you were young & uncertain? Continue to do hysterical comedies & keep us all laughing!
Have you been in contact at all with your Doogie co-star Mitchell Andersen? Did his coming out in 1996 affect your decision to live openly?
Another question…several people have mentioned your musical past, and I can’t help putting in a shout-out for that hilarious clip of you and Jason Segel singing “Confrontation” ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=EhXsJjVdj1E ). Please please please sing something? Or at least promise us a musical HIMYM episode?
What can you tell us about Joss Whedon’s “Doctor Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog” that you’re starring in? When can we expect to see it?
How do you feel about Barney and Robin getting together? I’m hoping they hook-up or something because the chemistry is awesome and Robin Sparkles needs some more Swarley in her life.
