it’s strongly believed by most people who saw the movie, that the whale went under the iceto commit suicide…Look it up on Wikipedia, it says so there to..
i mean, the whale just lost it baby and it’s wife…why else would it want to live?? it only stuck around so that it could gets it’s revenge..and after that was done, that’s when it felt comfortable with ending it’s misery…Duh
Ok, here’s the deal about the ice thing. I actually read an eye witness report a an orca seen crashing up through solid ice to grab a large bull walrus by susprise. It was a no contest bout. A bull orca is no joke. Rightfully they are feared by even great whites. I wish i could remember where i read it. well, thought I’d pass this along.
The whale brought Nolan up to the ice so they both can die. The problem was it wasn’t clear enough. If I was editing this film and I didn’t have enough footage I would’ve at least added some flashback footage from the opening scene with his mate swimming happily to show that he is at peace; to show some kind of closure, but then again I’d so pissed off at the over-usage of recycled footage, that I would’ve told the lazy ass film crew to go out and get me some more footage
