To anyone who does not possess Doc Jensen’s vast command of Lost plot twists and mythology-knowledge, there’s now a YouTube video for us all.
Without spoiling the effect of seeing this ingenious montage for the first time, I’ll say that when it comes to emoting a single quizzical word, I’ll assert that Matthew Fox is either the least expressive actor in the cast or the most genuinely puzzled guy when he receives every new script, and that Michael Emerson, as Ben, can make even one syllable carry the weight of more dread and menace than anyone in all of television.
What (so to speak) do you think?

What?
Heh, comparing this stupid video to the entire run of the X-files, I can deduce that Matthew Fox is a more expressive actor than David Duchovny.
Next video – “the”
I quite enjoyed that. I think Matthew Fox always looks perplexed.
Ben is one of the greatest characters, I think, on any television show. He’s so complex; it’s hard to decide whether to believe what he’s saying or not. One minute he appears to be sinister and devilish. The next, he appears to be protecting his way of life. He definitely makes the show 100 times more interesting.
Jack is one of the most boring characters. Even his past, and what got him on the island is boring. His dad’s storyline was more compelling. But I guess since he’s supposed to be the “hero”, it doesn’t matter. I don’t, however, think that the show would suffer if the writers chose to kill him off.
I’ve been digging Lost’s opening credits sequence, myself.

WHAT?! (Whoever did that – kudos it’s brilliant)
Good stuff. My favorites bits were Emerson, as well as any of the Sun/Jin “What”s in Korean.
Still, I’d rank this behind the Michael “Waaaallllt” video:
…and the Shia LeBeouf “No, no, no” video.
huh?
Que?
Walt?
Did anyone notice that this was in episode order? Realised it during the Moutain/Look Glass parts. That’s some dedication.
Oy. Some people have entirely too much time on their hands. It’s a nice gag, but it went on too long. I stopped watching after 45 seconds or so.
Makes me miss Maggie Grace.
hahahahahahahahah
Tucker, ftw.
In the immortal words of Xander Harris, “Waaaaay too much free time.”
The next one should be of “lost.”
Oh wait, even better: “island.”
the desmond “brotha” compilation is good too
Qu’est ce que c’est? That is great!
That was almost as great as the Marissa Cooper/The O.C. “Hey” montage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfgd36QNeRg
From what the blog is saying, I think this “what” clip really gives an insight into how good the actors are. Matt Fox does appear always confused and unexpressive and Mike Emerson… yeah, not enough words to describe how amazing of an actor and how powerful he is.
Someone has waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time on their hands.
Why?
Brilliance.
This reminds me of the 24 “Damn it” parody done, with clips of Jack uttering those overused swear words in the series. Used out of context, it’s hysterical.
Reminds me of the ‘Hey’ montage from Marissa Cooper of The OC.
Good stuff – but I disagree with the comments that Jack is unexpressive – his character is self-controlled and his acting is subtle. He is the bedrock of the show!
I can’t believe no one has brought up the “Hey” montage from Felicity – yes, there was one before The O.C.! (Am I showing my age?)
Michael Emmerson plays Ben so well, that even when he isn’t on the screen and Ben is metioned about some sinster thing that he has done, he is still creepy.
I love LOST but that made me SOOOOOOOO dizzy
this is exactly how i feel ever time i watch the show and it goes to commercials =]
People who accuse others of having too much time on their hands have too much time on their hands.
