Apparently, every Friday at about 5:45 am, if there are no major traffic snafus in the Cincinnati metropolitan area, the Local 12’s morning news crew loses their effing minds.
I swear, if Al Roker ever busted out "The Lawnmower" on The Today Show, I would walk over to Rockefeller Plaza and kiss him on his shiny head.

the worst part is that the guy actually knows the words
That’s hilarious… but CBS News NY did the same thing in 2006. Go dancin’ Dave Price, it’s your birthday…
I have the same (paraphrase) question for the popwatch crew: Don’t your bosses get mad for doing this (for you trawling youtube)? I guess the answer would be that your boss is watching the polar bear taking its first swim.
That was fantastic. I might actually watch my local news if they did crap like that.
I love this guy. The best Dance Party Friday is when he does Vanilla Ice Ice Baby and breaks out the Running Man. LOVE HIM.

Carr, your worst part is my favorite part.
I disagree. I think the BEST part was that he knew the words. That was the song that got all our junior high dances going.
We should all be able to have that much fun on slow days at work. Dance Party Friday for everyone!
I have never been a more proud resident of Cincinnati.
While watching this (and the you tube clips) I wished I lived in Cincinnati.
Somewhere Craig Kilborn is thinking “Hello, does any one remember “Its time to Dance. Dance. Dance” from the Thursday night Daily Shows.
Seriously – good for them.
Wow… my hometown has loosened up! And hired some cute new anchors, too. I have to remind myself that it’s all an illusion and I left for NYC for a reason…
WKRP!
LOVE IT! We have something similar here in Chicago on our morning show WGN…but CIN Town takes first prize. It is an awesome way to wake up. So, stay classy cincinnati
Check out OUR local weather nut:
I was shocked that dude could still remember the lyrics to a C&C Dance Factory tune from 1991. He’s either got a good memory or still listens to that CD. One of those things that make you go HMMMM
Bad as those local anchors may seem, they are no where near as bad as the NBC news people in DC. Exempting maybe the weather man, the whole crew is inept and make inappropriate comments to each other during the newscasts.
Annie Barrett, the dancing woman looks like you from the pictures on your blog! I humbly request a reenactment with you and Slezak!
I can’t remember the last time I was this proud to say I’m from Ohio.
This clip made my day. Hilarious!
I can’t believe they let the anchor get away with saying, “I’m just a squirrel trying to get a nut to move your butt”. If the morning news was like that in my hometown I would get up early just to watch it.
Hilarious … but for the record, isn’t that first step she does the Cabbage Patch, not the Roger Rabbit???
Man, I love my Cin Town.
I never thought I’d say that, but right, now, I feel like moving to Cincinnati. Ok… wait… the moment has passed. (Sigh of relief)
sadie and FabK, by worst i dont mean worst, i mean best. (okay…i actually mean its the worst part, but in a good way. right? hmm)
I wish they did that here in the Bay Area!
carr-thanks for the clarification.
I just noticed that at the beginning she says she’s doing the roger rabbit, but isn’t that actually the cabbage patch? If they’re going to do dance party Friday they really need to get their 80’s dance moves straight.
Anyone who has to work those hours should get to be a complete goofball.
Freakin’ HILARIOUS!
And jcarla? I think “trawling youtube” is pretty much the first line on the PopWatch crew’s job description!
Cincinnati rocks! I admire anyone who’s comfortable enough to do this – and great music choice!
