exhaustivo
adjective
Feeling exhausted because you stayed up too late the night before watching shows recorded to your TiVo or DVR. Commonly accompanied by the self-flagellation, "Why do I do this to myself?"
Origin: Wednesday morning, three blocks into my 12-block walk to work, I regretted staying up till 3 a.m. watching (or fast-forwarding through) four new-to-me Angel repeats, American Idol, the Dancing With the Stars results show, and a Bones rerun on TNT that, hello, I actually own on DVD. (But it was the season 1 Christmas episode where everyone gets quarantined in the Jeffersonian, and only Booth gets to enjoy the fun side effects of the antifungal cocktail they’re administered, as seen below.) Which is why I said to myself, as I was trudging, "I am exhaustivo."

Yeah that happens too often to count. Sometimes I’ll record a bunch of shows on the same day and I’ll have to watch them that night. Otherwise it’ll drive me crazy the next morning because I have to read all the blogs. Even though I’m exhaustivo.
I also do that with DVD sets. I’ll keep telling myself “OK, one more episode and then straight to bed.” Then the next day, I’m completely dead.
That’s a brilliant term and something I’m sure a lot of us suffer from.
Although, since I’m still taping stuff on my VHS, I think I suffer from “exhaustivideo”
I’m with Vicky… I feel so much pressure to watch my shows so I can read up on the blogs on ew.com the next day. It’s my favorite pasttime! And,I hate having to hide them from myself to avoid spoilers! So, keeping up with the shows, after getting my 2 year old to bed, just makes me sooooo EXHAUSTIVO!
I do this all the time too, sometimes just to watch old CSI epsiodes I DVR’d and have all ready sceen twice before. That is a great episode of Bones by the way
Can’t wait till that show comes back with new episodes it has to be the most underatted show and cast on TV the show is awesome and the cast is great so much chemistry between them all
Without a DVR or Tivo, this can’t apply to me, although I like the phrase “Exhastivideo.” I also will stay up way too late watching TV on DVD…season 1 of Arrested Development has me yawning today.
I have had exhaustivo this week thanks to my Sports Night DVDs. I swear, I ws just going to watch 6 Southern Gentlemen of Tennesee…
Ha!!! I have the flu, and I’m exhaustivoing myself myself on BONES, but this time on hulo.com, season 1, wow, this is addictive.
Mandi…I hope when you’re finished with Angel you’ll post a super-mega-huge post about it. and its AWESOMENESS.
