I turn to those Music Choice channels at the high end of the television dial whenever I need a five-minute escape, or if I’m just really, really hoping to hear Johnny Gill’s "Rub You the Right Way" (which I totally did this weekend). On Saturday, I also stopped to listen to country singer Blake Shelton’s cover of Michael Bublé’s "Home." (Though Shelton has girlfriend Miranda Lambert do background vocals on the track, he recently joined Bublé onstage in Nashville for the unrehearsed duet, below.) You know how Music Choice gives you trivia about the artist as the song plays: It said that Blake Shelton has a pet turkey THAT HE’S FED TURKEY TO. That is just wrong.
So what’s the strangest (or most interesting) bit of trivia you’ve picked up courtesy of Music Choice?

Michael Buble is too funny sometimes! I hope to get a chance to see him live sometime.
I sorta recall learning that White Lion’s Mike Tramp was a fan of some Norwegian soccer team. Yeah, weird crap like that just sticks in my head…
Here’s one that kind of blew my mind: apparently, Avril Lavigne started out as a country singer. Then her managed told her she’d probably be more successful as a “punk” singer, so she crossed over. Crazy, or what?
1. that was amazing
2. Buble is very funny
3. This duet needs to be added to that other Pop Watch blog from earlier the other week about celeb duets or something?
4. that person either had really good seats or their phone has an amazing zoom-in option
“Jason Mraz is anemic.”
Thanks Music Choice. The next time I’m at a Jason Mraz concert, I’ll throw folic acid tablets on stage instead of my bra.
I took my parents to see Michael Buble and after Michael kept humming bits of Wicked Game throughout the night, had an unrehearsed appearance by Chris Isaak. I was ecstatic, my parents had no clue, but it was a fun extra bonus.
Overall it was a great concert..he keeps you entertained throughout.
And the Turkey info? Disgusting and disturbing for sure.
My father likes to watch the country stations on Music Choice when he’s staying with me. He loved this bit about Waylon Jennings: Dude was declared an honorary mayor of a town one day and then busted for pot possession..in the same town, on the same day. Eat your heart out, Kieth Richards!
I actually love it when they play the one hit wonders from the 70’s, such as Carl Douglas ‘Kung Fu Fighting’ and they show the same anecdote about the artist or band for almost the whole song! I guess they couldn’t find out too many things about the Starland Vocal Band and the like!
