I agree - that wasn't really funny at all. So someone else wrote and directed a movie, someone else cut a trailer of said movie, which featured some other people singing songs they or yet some other people wrote and taking that *trailer* scene-by-scene and substituting Jew-stereotypes (however blandly and therefore "safely")is comedy?
Methinks it is obvious they came up with the title first and worked backwards. And I also find it a tad ironic that EW just had a rather ranty column on the unfunniness of the Kimmel video. Almost declared it dangerous. Are these things all about who gives (or witholds) judgment and their relation to the "issue" at hand? That hardly seems to be walking the critical straight-and-narrow.
My simpler whine would be that at least the Kimmel video made a pastiche joke out of We Are The World pomp and wasn't a shot-by-shot of [a TRAILER of!]something that came out just a year ago.

This was a parody trailer created by local NY Jewish comedy talent in promotion of "The Shushan Channel," a series of sketches spoofing today's TV shows launched every year for the Jewish holiday of Purim. It will not be a full feature, and it gets my vote for good writing and great character commitment. And yes, JK is great. Always.

This wasn't very funny. Jew stereotypes have been done to death. I'm not offended - heck, I'm not even Jewish. Just didn't laugh much.
Personally, I think it's a PR move. People are reacting against the movie with really really funny satires (Quotey, etc.) and the Juno cast decided to indulge Diablo's attempt to manage the backlash through gentle self-satire.
Notice Ellen Page's conspicuous ABSENCE. I think, after SNL, DC isn't getting that Page tat anytime soon.

Is this seriously a movie premiering on the 22nd? This two-minute parody trailer is really funny, but if they actually stretched it out to a full-length feature (or even a short film), that's waaaay too long.

Seriously? Is there ANYTHING J.K. Simmons can't do? Drama and comedy equally as well. The man even sings and dances (see the "Variety" episode on Oz).
I know he's brilliant in his supporting roles, but give this guy his own showcase NOW.
