*-*-*-*-i-n-g. That’s fairly evident from today’s gallery about the 25 best turners of tricks on film. Hats off to Gary Susman for enduring what must have been a positively grueling research sesh to compile that. But God, Gary, only 25? There are so many more awesome prostitutes than that. Like Madeline Kahn in Blazing Saddles, or Monica Bellucci’s lactating mom hooker in Shoot ‘Em Up (pictured). And while we’re on the subject of dairy, Melanie Griffith in Milk Money. As a side note, ever since seeing the Alfie remake, I’ve been walking around convinced that Jude Law (not necessarily his character) is a hooker. Weird. Discuss. Who’d we miss?

Actually, Jude Law was a hooker. He played a robot hooker in A.I. So you’re right!
I can’t believe Donna Reed (yes THAT Donna Reed) was left off the list for her Oscar-winning turn as a hooker in “From Here to Eternity.”
How about Nancy in Oliver! ??
You MUST add James Franco in “Sonny” to the list. Mena Suvari was a great if-this-were-a-perfect-world love interest in that film too. And the saddest mother ever – Brenda Blethyn – phenomenal!!! But never forget Mr. Franco!!!
Great call by you Annie on Madeline Kahn in “Blazing Saddles”, but an even better call by Leslie with Jude Law in “A.I.” as one of the more unique turner of tricks.
I’ll throw in some love for a lesser known one: Bebe Neuwirth in Woody Allen’s little-seen “Celebrity” demonstrating how to give oral sex on a banana in, probably, the best scene in a movie that’s not so great.
jude law was a hustler in midnight in the garden of good and evil directed by clint eastwood. i’ll tell you that jude makes one beautiful hooker.
Even though it was a very minor role, I always loved Jennifer Garner’s peformance in “Catch Me If You Can”.
Rosario Dawson in Sin City. Minor role, but that movie was just so freaking cool throughout.
I’m shocked that you left out Susan Sarandon and Brooke Shields as the mother-daughter courtesans in “Pretty Baby.”
Also, Jo Van Fleet won an Oscar for her performance as James Dean’s long-lost, wayward mother in “East of Eden.”
Greta Garbo in Camille (1936) — the original tubercular courtesan upon which Nicole Kidman’s Satine was based. This one had me sobbing my eyes out in my college media lab, swearing I had to get it on VHS as soon as I had a VCR.
What about the girls from “Dr. Detroit?” I remember being a kid watching that movie and thinking these girls really want to help this guy. He’s just a loser who needs their help and the girls, in turn, need his. Mind you, I was four when it came out so the idea of what hookers and pimps really were didn’t dawn on me. But it is my first memory of seeing a pimp and his hoes.

What about the funniest TV hooker in recent memory- Sharon Lawrence as suburban call girl Maisy Gibbons on Desperate Housewives?

Candy in the movie Candy. It’s possibly one of the most overlooked roll of Heath Ledger as Candy’s bf and possibly one of his best performances, too.
The girls in Gangs of New York?
