If anyone in the States ever wonders why people outside your country sometimes don’t care for Americans, there’s a few great examples right on this board.
not a fan of Carly, i was so happy she was bottom 3. she yells & makes horrible faces when singing. and she is desperate. i will never vote for her.
Totally agree about Ryan, Rebecca. He knows who he is and knows how to approach this industry and this show with the perfect attitude – kind of a one foot in and one foot out deal.
And no joke, Whitney – people better vote, vote, vote for Carly next week because for her to leave before Kristy, Syesha, Chikezie and possibly others would be a travesty. I didn’t vote for Carly once in the semi-finals but she has won me and my votes over (maybe because early favorites Alaina and David H were stripped from me!).
Where does she get her awesome tops?
They are so unique. She has GREAT taste. Would love to know where she buys her clothes. Thanks
I don’t like Carly now and doubt I’ll change my mind. She has been disengenuous (sp?) about her prior record contract and why it failed and she made a lovely simple beatles tune into an oversung theatric mess. She has a technically proficient voice, but doesn’t know how to deliver a pleasing or inspiring performance.
Whitney — what a hoot. I’ve been a devoted fan since season one, but never gave much real thought to what goes on behind the live telecasts. I first figured out that the “end-of-live-show-recap” was really pasted together from the previous night’s dress rehearsal while watching Taylor Hicks. The man was too dynamic and impulsive to perform with the exact same mannerisms two shows in a row. (Yes I voted for him, yes I have his album, and I wish I knew where he went to.) I remember watching the recap that night, thinking “But he didn’t DO that…” and Tivo’ing back to confirm it. But I digress. What I really wanted to say was thanks for the behind-the-scenes glimpse of the results show. Reminds me of the phrase “plausibly live”, coined by whichever network was hosting the Olympic Games from Australia that year.
Personally, I think Amanda was relieved to be voted off. I would have been too. Can you imagine going on a summer-long tour with “little-girl-syndrome” Ramiele? Gag me.
Amanda had that “help me” look in her eyes too often for comfort, so we had to let her go. And about Carly: I wish I liked her more, but she’s merely “good”. She sings well. She’s pretty. But I’m not in awe of her voice or her personality. I want her to amaze me, but she never does. Since my mom is off the boat from Ireland, I always want the Irish to win, but Carly–she’s just ‘good’. It takes more than that to win this thing. Little David A has a better voice and Jason Castro is the quirky interesting character. (And the producers should not be pressuring a guy who seems young for his age into changing his style. He’s not the standard type to win this contest, so they should let him be himself. It’s part of his charm.) It’s amazing that Kristy Lee is still holding on. Never underestimate the pull of a pretty blonde. She doesn’t even meet the “good”-blah standard of the other women. At this rate, I think the final 3 will be guys.
I agree with EP. Carly needs to be very carefully. The stakes are raised. If she wants to play hardball she can’t be cocky. Clearly her over-dramatic interpretation of “Blackbird” knocked her into the bottom three. BTW: yeah, Pickler got a b-b job. At least it’s not as noticeable as Heidi Montags.
mscisluv, you are right. It’s desperation she’s giving off. I just couldn’t think of the right adjective.
My 11 year old son Loves Carly, he will stop whatever he is doing to come watch her and he will sit on the phone the entire 2 hours to vote for her. Tuesday night his Dad was on the phone and he couldn’t call we were all informed that the phone is his next Tuesday so he doesn’t have to see her on those stools again.
I absolutely LOVE Kellie Pickler! That girl is HILARIOUS (“Look at the pickle!”) – somebody give the woman a talk show!! As far as the competition goes, Carly has the best voice of the women without a doubt, anyone who says otherwise is tone deaf. David C. is an amazing performer. At this point they are the only two I would go out of my way to see in concert, although Chekezie on his good days is pretty fun to watch.
I guess that with Carly it is desperation. I also think that she does not have much faith in herself. Her first album went nowhere. As an artists, you don’t recover that easy from a flop.
Some of you people…? To say something so mean as to make fun of Little David as “retarded” or “down-syndrome”, either you are not old enough to be commenting on this site or a completely insensitive person. I think Carly is great. Jason is my favorite, then Carly and Michael Johns, and then David Arhuletta. The rest can go home now. I would be impressed with Brooke, but I just can’t imagine that she is really THAT sweet. I keep looking for the evil side to show up when she doesn’t think the camera is on her.
humph! well, i’m sorry, i am eleven years old and not allowed to vote too much! anyway i prob wouldve voted for david a. but what else is new.
