Ever have iTunes freeze up right in the middle of an awesome playlist? John Mayer has, too — and since he’s not just a rocker but a blogger, we get to read all about the error report he subsequently filed to Apple. Welcome to the 21st Century, folks.
John’s a pretty funny guy, and I got a few chuckles out of this post — even if I decidedly disapprove of his casual Radiohead-bashing. (Oh, so you "downloaded In Rainbows… listened to it for, like, 2 weeks nonstop and then haven’t played it since"? I’m sure Thom Yorke is still totally spinning Continuum every morning, bro.) But, more to the point, could Mayer maybe think in the future about applying some of this limitless error-report-filing and frivolous-blog-writing energy into, y’know, recording slightly less lame music for my iTunes? Just saying…
If it weren’t for his VH1 TV show, I’d discount John Mayer as a complete tool. His music is lame!

Um, wow, to be honest, I am a Radiohead fan, and um, I downloaded In Rainbows, listened to it on repeat for two weeks, and haven’t listened to it since.

how can someone so talented have such bad product? maybe he should just play on the streets for quarters doing improv guitar. just put a bag over his face– I HATE HIS GUITAR FACE!
I agree with Red. He was funny on that show which makes the cheesy teenage-girl-baiting music he writes just seem all the more manipulative and corporate. I’d almost respect his horrid music more if he was vapid and boring, at least then it would seem genuine.
Lol. Your post made me laugh really hard. His guitar face IS pretty weird, but he’s a jazz guy. If you’ve ever seen other jazz guitarists, and drummers too, you know that they all make really grotesque faces. I’m not really sure why; they just do. Maybe it helps with the “jamming out” aspect. I don’t know. Haha.
He ought to put some of that caustic wit into his music.

yea i guess the “spirit” of the jazz greats somehow overcomes your face and makes you kinda spazz out- facially… whatever, im sure people who are into jazz think he’s wack… i mean, most people who are into jazz are kinda snotty and like the idea of staying “underground”… john mayer is just too saturated for hardcore jazz people to care about (in my opinion). and his face is funny (that is a fact)
