Give us some sweet Must List tips

Categories: Must List

I don’t care if they’re gooey-fresh or chewy-stale, those kitschy Easter candies known as Peeps are on my Mustn’t list. However, this adorable photo gallery on the Rhino Records website, which shows Great Scenes in Rock & Roll History (as re-enacted by Peeps), is a Must for everyone — whether you’re celebrating with baskets and bonnets this Sunday or not. Since EW really doesn’t cover sugary treats on the Must List page, we need your pop culture suggestions for the best in current movies/TV/music/books/games/online. And don’t forget: You need to include your e-mail address if you want to be considered for inclusion in the magazine by our esteemed panel of editors.

No peepin, I mean sleepin’, on the job PopWatchers. Let’s hear your best ideas! Deadline is tomorrow morning (March 20) at 10 a.m. ET.

How I Met Your Mother – FINALLY scripted TV is back! Maybe it can get some love.

Kenny Chesney’s “Better As A Memory.” If that thing isn’t a huge country hit, I’ll go out and buy myself a big cowboy hat, just so I can eat it.

  • brandi

I ditto the HIMYM. It definitely needs to be recognized.
    Also, gofugyourself.com.
Besides their wonderfully sarcastic, spot-on humor, they are having their own March Madness bracket called Fug Madness 2008. See if your favorite horribly dressed celeb, socialite or blink-and-you-miss-them person takes the big prize!

NEW MADONNA SONG IS ON THE RADIO!

Just thought you might want to give out some love to a great new band (BEFORE they’re huge… ).
The band is called The Dø and the album is “A Mouthful”.
    http://www.myspace.com/thedoband
Their first single “On My Shoulders” is amazing and was used in a very prominent ad in Europe ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vhruv8lLlQI).
But the whole album is very eclectic and full of rock, folk, pop, indie choirs and even a hip-hop track. As I’ve always listened very carefully to your excellent taste in new music, I wanted you to be the very first to hype this new band because they’re on their way of BLOWING up all over the world.
She’s Finnish and he’s French, it’s the ultimate fresh indie band of the new Europe without cultural borders. A little Björk, Cardigans, Feist and White Stripes all rolled into one: The Dø.
Thanks for giving it a shot and keep up the excellent work!

I agree about HIMYM, but more specifically, Neil Patrick Harris on How I Met Your Mother. He is the reason that show is, I’m going to go there, awesome!

    How I Met Your Mother:
CBS’ legen…wait for it…dary sitcom finally returns — with Britney Spears to boot!

Music – “Stand and Stare”OneRepublic Catchy tune, great chorus, now if only someone would explain what is supposed to be going on in the accompining video, I’d be set.

  • Josh

Paul Giamatti in John Adams. He delivers yet another wonderful performance making history exciting and interesting for all.

  • idigress

Sophie Kinsella’s “Remember Me” was a great airplane novel! I read it in one sitting from Philly to Phoenix!

  • Leah

America’s Next Top Doll on EW.com. Like the original, but much funnier. A spot-on caricature.

  • Lau

The beehive is back, popping up on the head of Zach Gakifianakis in his new Absolut ad. The B-52’s must be thrilled!

Saw these guys on Carson Daly – so funny! They play a couple from Orange County doing stand-up.

  • Steve Manson

Feel The Spin with Larry Flick. Weekend afternoons on Sirius radio. It’s four hours of genius new UK imports, soul classics, and rock-induced reminiscing that would make Scott Muni proud.

  • DalGal

John Adams on HBO is very addictive! Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney bring history to life and are 2 of the finest actors ever to grace the screen. The EMMY’s should go ahead and give them their awards now.

  • Daniel

    – South Park – the new season is as fresh and funny as ever.
    – Tropic Thunder trailer – it looks like, for the first time ever, August is going to be THE month for movies.
    – “I am Legend” on DVD – the two-disc set features an alternate ending worked into the film.

  • andy

Must Watch TV – HIMYM best ensemble in tv.
Must Hear CD – Jack Johnson Sleep through the static…the mellow man really steps his game up
Must Read Comic – Buffy The Vampire Season 8, it’s so good I’m laughing out loud, crying and most of all missing seeing the scooby gang every week on TV.

  • Jessica

I’ll add a shout out for the new song from Madonna and JT. Love it! Also on the music front, I’m seriously groovin’ to a great local band, The OaKs. Amazing vocals, stellar instrumentation, and a phenomenal live show. They just played at SXSW to great reviews, were approached by a huge act to be an opener, and will only get bigger. Jump on the bandwagon, EW, before it takes off!

Top Chef is back! It looks just as intriguing as previous seasons. I am already hooked. I can’t wait to see how the culinary adventures pan out.

  • JC

Webkinz, no joke. It’s a kids’ thing, but it’s so bloody addictive.

  • Meghan

    RiffTrax, found at http://rifftrax.com.
Consistently hilarious, the former stars of Mystery Science Theater 3000 get together to snark and rip Hollywood blockbusters a new one. They most recently posted a riff for Beowulf, but classics such as Star Wars, Independence Day, and even Glitter are well worth the download as well.

    1)new season of South Park
    2)Leona Lewis Bleeding Love
3)Top Doll vids on EW*need daily amounts*
4)return of scripted T.V.*also needed in daily amounts*

  • Gidian Cole

South Park’s timely episode regarding the media’s obsession with Brittney Spears. Horrific, funny, tragic, and sad.

  • Melissa

Rhett&Link (http://rhettandlink.com/). Their music videos (check out the Facebook song at http://rhettandlink.com/videos/#facebook-song) and Rhett&LinKast podcast are regularly hilarious. Seriously.

  • Keri

Must Watch TV– It’s in danger of being canceled, but “Aliens in America” on the CW. It’s outrageous, it’s touching, it’s offensive, it’s hilarious. All wrapped into 22 minutes. It’s gonna seriously piss me off if it’s not back next year.

  • furry_tom

Jonquil’s album “Lions”. It’s one of my favorite albums from last year, or one of my favorite albums from this year if it finally gets a US release:

    Lost!
    thecheappop.com

  • Martha

gofugyourself.com: The Fug Girls are doing their own version of March Madness. Root for your favorite badly dressed celeb as you root for your alma mater…

  • Jeff

NO on the madonna song–it’s her worst effort since American Life, and it’s nowhere near as brilliant as her last effort, “Hung Up.”
But YES to Lost, SouthPark’s new season, and that song “Bleeding Love”
