I went on vacation to the Southwest, and while visiting Tuscon, we stopped by both Old Tuscon and Mescal, two locations often used in old west movies, and it’s really a lot of fun. Mescal, for example, is the town they used in that gorgeous cheese flik, The Quick and the Dead with Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman and Russel Crowe, and has also been the home to a bunch of other shows and movies. It feels like a real old west ghost town–can’t tell you how neat that is!

While studying abroad in London two summers ago I made it my mission to visit as many Harry Potter movies sites as possible from Kings Cross Station to Alnwick Castle which was used for castle shots in the first two movies. And I highly recommend visiting the castle…you feel like you’re at Hogwarts.

I went to school at the University of AZ where the Revenge of the Nerds was filmed. I have been on the balcony where Ogre drops the kid hanging by hia ankle while shouting Nerds! Nerds! at Lewis and Gilbert. OMG Does that make me a nerd?

I was in Savannah, GA last week and could not miss catching the park bench where Forrest Gump was filmed. Even though traffic goes the opposite way in real life, it’s still fun to see.

I’ve been down to Arches in Utah, where the first part of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (I think it’s that one) was filmed. I was way disappointed that the cave is not really there. I’ve also driven past the Lehi Roller Mills from Footloose a million times, and made some of the excellent muffin mixes.

Not sure where I would visit, but I know that Dwight Schrute would like to go to Mordor.

It was for a tv show. When my family took a trip to North Carolina, we took a special day trip to Wilmington where Dawson’s Creek was filmed. While it was cool to eat in the bar that “Dawson’s dad” owned, the town itself was even cooler.

I’d love to see the town where TWIN PEAKS was filmed!
I’ve been there, it’s not too far outside of Seattle. I was surprised by how many of the exterior shots from the opening credits are actually in the town.
I’ve been to where Unforgiven and Brokeback Mountain were filmed, up in Alberta, absolutely amazing scenery.
Also, in Calgary I recognized a lot of locations from Cool Runnings. I guess there is a ton of movies being shot there. Calgary doubles for so many different places.

I visited Marfa a few years ago when my son was an intern at the famous Chinati Foundation (Donald Judd). I fell in love with the beauty, the climate and the people – not to mention the fabulous art scene there. I bought property and hope to retire there! The little town is growing and now even has its own laundromat! It is hard to get to – but well worth the trip.

Quite a few years ago I had just seen one of the films in the Omen trilogy before traveling to London. There was a scene filmed in “Bishops Park”, according to the dialogue, in which the character Buchenhagen was sitting on a park bench. I decided to find the bench when I got to London and was successful. Right by the bench was a structure where another scene in the film had been shot, and I was not expecting to find that. It was fun, and well worth the two hours it took to go to the park.

i did not actually plan the trip around this movie spot but the movie was a big factor in me going, Prague. There were a few other places in Prague that I saw in a Vin Diesel spy-action movie that I toured. I have been watching a lot online movies mainly at three of my favorite web tv portals. http://www.hulu.com, http://www.zoogatv.com and http://www.tidaltv.com. i have seen some great movie locations especially in Canada that I am thinking about visiting as a result of seeing a movie.
