Little known fact, the scene with John Candy and his polka band in Home Alone is an homage of sorts to “The Last Polka”. It’s a 1985 mocumentary about a polka band written by Eugene Levi and John Candy that Catherine O’Hara was in. I believe it spun off of a skit from their SCTV days.

Yes, Rose…they were Yosh and Stan Schmenge–The Schmenge Brothers!
She makes anything better just by being in it.

I love her anytime she gives out acting tips in Waiting For Guffman. Classic!

I actually HATED For Your Consideration, because it was kinda cute for the first hour, and the last act the whole film fell apart. (Where was the Samantha Harris love in For Your Consideration? Hers was the relevatory performance).
Fave Catherine O’Hara performance? Someone mentioned earlier _After Hours_, and I totally second that. She created a FANTASTIC character, one I rooted for and was terrified of at the same time.

    C. O’H. is a reason to see a movie…. Though that still doesn’t mean I’ll go see anything she’s in ( not mentioning the titles). She’s the comic centerpiece of “Heartburn” w/ Meryl and Jack….
And it goes without saying maybe , but she deserves better! I figure since she’s got a family (now), she must be picky about the jobs she takes… “Penelope” is in theatres now if you want to see her latest….
