The new 'Sex and the City' movie trailer!

The full-length Sex and the City movie trailer has hit the web (below), and sent emails flying in our offices. We’re not sure whether to trust our eyes: So Big would really leave Carrie at the altar? Charlotte is pregnant? Miranda might have to kick Steve in his testicle for cheating on her? And Samantha is still transfixed by Smith’s abs? (Okay, that last one we buy).

While I really want to see how this "anti-fairytale" ends — and experience that moment when I’m proud to be a woman with great friends — am I the only one who’s yet to see a reason why this movie had to be on the big screen? I wouldn’t be any less excited if it was premiering on HBO, and I got to eavesdrop on their intimate conversations from the comfort of my couch. I wonder if having them in my home helped me feel so close to them in the first place… just asking. Anyway, what about you, PopWatchers? How do you feel about SATC: The Movie?

I have a hunch…Big doesn’t leave her at the altar…he dies! And this movie is all about her finding her way again. Back to the fabulous, and single, Carrie we all know and love. It’s a reach, but hey, who knows?

Garsh. I was able to find it on another site, but the first few seconds were clipped off. That said… oh mah goodness – I can’t WAIT!!!!

  • alison

it disappeared for me too. Go to youtube and search for sex and the city full trailer. You’ll see it, and you’ll love it!!!!!

I couldn’t be more excited. It looks fantastic, and retains all that we loved about the series. I think seeing it on the big screen will only make it more brilliant and engaging.

I agree with the first comment, my guy reaction is that BIG dies, not leaves her at the alter..I found this to be heartbraking! Or am I just hormonal today?

The trailer disappears for me on this site and it’s already been taken off of YouTube by New Line Cinema. It’s such a big tease!!!!! Frustrating!!!!!!

I’m with you Mandi, it didn’t need to be on the BIG screen, just a little cable TV movie or network TV movie and they could do like those Magnum movies….show one every season…but I want to know how big is Jen-Hud’s part, seems like she’s got a peek-a-boo or you miss her part…and will she sing the theme Song?

I din’t get to view this video…it was pulled so quickly that my first thought was it must be a fake!

  • Thad

Can anyone get this to work??!!! Teaser truely

  • klo

Oh its not fake, I watched it twice, its the real deal…its almost 3 minutes long, shows a lot of interesting kid bits..I have read that it was leaked prematurely and was pulled down by the studio — hopefully New Line comes around and lets it go back up!

    It’s still up on jezebel

Actually, I found a paparazzi video of the filming of the scene right after the wedding, and Big is very much alive, and very much getting hit in the head with a bouquette, lol.

    That buzzsugar link works great…thanks!

  • celbabs

Okay, just saw it on jezebel as well. To say that I am excited is an understatement. It looks incredible. And yes, it HAD to be on the big screen. Sex and the City’s life on TV is over. It finished. The only they could do was put it on the big screen and oh how lovely it’s going to be!!!!

  • GeeMoney

    I’m so excited! Can’t wait!

  • Shari

Big’s not dead. No way shape or form. Sex has NEVER gone the melodramatic route and they won’t start now, for the movie, that fans have waited 4 years for.

  • Snarf

Unnecessary. The series had a perfect ending. Why futz around with it?

    J-Hud!

  • ProgGrrl

I love it. Will never get enough of these four ladies, their shoes, their brunches, their highs & heartaches. The dialogue is as crisp as ever and OMG we hear Mr. Big’s full name?! *joy*

I agree. I was sad to see the show end, but they did such a great job pulling together all the story lines. I don’t see a reason behind the movie. I will see it though.

  • Erin

Mandi, it HAS to be on the big screen because it’s grown so much bigger than HBO! Thanks to our TV on DVD happy new world, millions more people (like me!) who never subscribed to HBO got to experience and love the show from the DVDs, and maybe even the watered down TBS versions (where they draw undies on the ladies!) and so the fan base has expanded so much, people would freak out if it was only going to be shown on HBO now. Many of us are perfectly willing to pay $11.50 to see it in the theater, but aren’t willing to pay for one month of HBO for it.
