It’s the Friday afternoon on an awards show weekend, and you know what that means: a post plugging our coverage!
• Annie Barrett and I will be live-blogging Sunday’s Oscars, which officially kick off at 8 p.m. ET on ABC with some arrivals coverage. We’ll skip E!’s six-hour Countdown to the Red Carpet, but pick up with Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic at 6 p.m. ET, when there’s the chance of someone actually being there.
• Adam B. Vary will be filing items throughout the night from backstage at the Kodak Theatre.
• Gary Susman will be taking notes for his morning-after gallery of the evening’s best and worst moments.
While you ponder whether George Clooney will help you win your Oscar pool, feel free to bone up on our Oscars hub, where you’ll find Dave Karger’s video interviews with nominees including Clooney, Javier Bardem, Viggo Mortensen, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Marion Cotillard, and Laura Linney, as well as stars from Juno and Atonement. Rooting for any of them?

Actually ladies I’m rooting for you two. Watching Seacrest & Rancic doesn’t come without it’s risks (to your I.Q anyway) Remember girls, show no mercy and don’t be afraid to use your nails!
LOL, Oscars 2008 Spoof:

There isn’t anywhere else to post what I have to say: Karen Allen should have been mentioned in your 100 biggest Oscar snubs (for Raiders of the Lost Ark). She’s able to go toe-to-toe with Indy and steals half the scenes she is in! No wonder they brought her back for the next installment…
That’s so exciting. I love the Oscars. I’m planning on live blogging too at http://coldsake.blogspot.com/
I don’t watch them anymore since they became one big commercial with a few awards thrown in. Add to that their location (in a corporate named theater so that’s a no-no for me as well) and now with ABC’s huge on-screen logo counting down the days till the “event” and you have no chance of me watching or caring about it.
I just came from the AMC Best Picture Movie Marathon and think the following:
Daniel Day-Lewis, Javier Bardem should win. They were horrifying in their own ways (though George Clooney is my second choice). Best Picture, I don’t see why the Coen Bros. one is up but if I had to choose between that and There Will Be Blood, I’ll go with Coen (again, Michael Clayton was amazing!).
