I kept hearing rumors that my favorite Dancing With the Stars pro Edyta Sliwinska (along with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who manages to emote volumes despite having no lines) currently stars in a commercial for Jared The Galleria of Jewelry (?!). During a severe mental lapse last night in which I accidentally watched a commercial block, I finally caught it:
The best part — except for, obviously, the pair’s slick moves and Maks’ unnecessarily slick ‘do — is when Edyta tells the Len Goodman wannabe in the PLAID SUIT that Maks got her glistening jewels at Jared and he makes this knowing face, like "But of course. He went to Jared. Given that company’s reputation, I am not surprised!"
Next up? Edyta’s own line of legwarmers. Make it happen!
Yeah….this commercial’s been around for at least a year. I mean, Maks’ hair hasn’t even looked like that for the past two DWTS competitions.
alec mazo is also in this commercial! in case people don’t remember him, he won the first DWTS with kelly monaco, has been on other seasons & he’s also married to edyta in real life.
Whoa… you’re right, that is Alec. He must have gone to Jared too if he got Edyta in real life!
Though she hasn’t been on DWTS, the other female dancer in this commercial is Shalene Archer, who until recently was the reigning World Champion American Smooth dancer (along with her husband/partner Ben Archer). She should be on DWTS, as if you’d ever seen them dance, they are AMAZING! But they live in Nashville, so aren’t into all that LA scene, I guess.
This is an older commercial (2004?) produced before DTWS. It was resurrected in November 2007 (during the last week of DTWS season 5).
Annie I don’t know if you’ll get this–I looked EVERYWHERE to try and contact you and this was the only way I could figure out–but THANK YOU for the 20 Most Appalling TV Shows. You’re awesome. I totally agree with you, except that I still totally enjoy Big Brother, I think it has a lot of smart strategy and gameplay involved. But good call on that list; so many of those shows I’ve wanted axed forever (helloooo, Bachelor series!)
