What a pleasure to find an unexpected gem at the video store in The Lost Room DVD, about a mystery involving a missing daughter, a collection of ordinary objects imbued with magical powers that are tied to a no longer existing Room 10 of the Sunshine Motel in Gallup, New Mexico, and the various factions who are trying to collect and control them all. Well acted and directed, it draws you into the mystery, and leaves you wanting more. Originally a 3-part miniseries on the Sci Fi Channel, I’ve now watched the first two parts on Disc One, and can’t wait to see how it plays out on Disc Two. Having first viewed it as a rental, I’m planning on buying it and adding it to my own personal collection.

Gone Baby Gone – Excellent story, cast, and director. Who knew Ben Affleck can direct a thought provoking movie?
Amy Winehouse – Her Grammy performance is nothing short of amazing. She seemed nervous at times but her voice was priceless! Truly deserving her Grammys.
Sheryl Crow -Breast cancer, broken engagement, and Iraq war in one great album? It just shows how talented she truly is.

Annie, you mentioning “Flavor of Love” reminded me of something thats on my must list every week:
“The Soup” on channel E!. It is a hilarious show, and a great way to watch all the great stupid stuff w/out having to see EVERYTHING. And Joel McHale is adorable

Panic at the Disco’s new video “Nine in the Afternoon” because even if they did (regretably) drop the exclamation point from their name, their video is still made from the most random awesomeness ever: animal mask wearing, shag carpet petting, marching band rocking wonderfulness set in a psychedelic candyland governed by the enormous time-keeping hands of multi-colored alarm clocks. Genius, purely genius!

The Daily Show and Colbert Report. They have been consistently funny (sans writers!) and the inspired feud with Conan O’Brien reached new hights of hilarity. They keep us smiling in the serious times, which is really needed as the primaries build up to the final decision, which leads the networks to sometimes forget the funny side of everything.
